I challenge any liberal to explain how releasing criminals without posting bail, and releasing illegal criminals that have ICE Detention warrants makes the communities safer.
I got this one. It causes crime to skyrocket in the short term, causing people to demand better/more law enforcement, for which we need to raise taxes, of which politicians, lawyers, unions all get a cut. When its all done, we have more cops, more bureaucrats, less money, progressive utopia.
they do these things to facilitate division, which in turn allows them to make more rules which create more division, which eventually will lead to their totalitarian utopia...
Yet, Blasio claims that crime is down in New York City. Of course that is because they stopped arresting people for certain crimes. Like men pleasuring themselves on the subways, or shooting up on subways. They are using the opposite of the broken window tactic. Yet, some of those released without bail includes MS-13 gang members. Then there is the guy that robbed several banks before being caught. They released him without bail, and he went out and robbed another bank that same day. Because he robbed banks in North Carolina before moving to NYC, the Federal Government was able to arrest, and hold him without bail. He will now be tried in Federal Courts. It is sad that the federal government has to do NYC's job. The same is true in the sanctuary cities/state. They claim that crime is down, but the news is full of illegals committing crimes right after being released. Several stick out in my mind. Like the illegal that went on a shooting spree in NYC after getting released without bail. Or the illegal that was released without bail, and went out and raped a 94 year old woman. Then there was the illegal in Washington state that was released without bail for sexual assaulting a woman. Upon release he tried to sexual assault the same woman the same day he was released the woman convinced that she needed to use the bathroom first. She then called police while in the bathroom. But he left before the police arrived. Last report, he fled the country, but he will probably reenter the country sometime, Then there was the illegal in San Francisco that served time in jail. He was released into the community, even though he had an ICE warrant on him. He then went to a pier in San Francisco. Someone had left a gun for him under a bench. He then shot and killed a woman walking with her father. It was a random shooting. Yet, the courts released him again, and the city blocked ICE from deporting him. The courts also ruled that the family could not sue the city for their sanctuary city policy that allowed this illegal to shoot the woman. Yet, San Francisco and the state of California claims that the city/state is safer by releasing illegal criminals back into the community make it safer. Again, liberal logic is illogical. I am still waiting for a liberal to explain how these policies make the city safe.
I challenge that it is racially discriminatory to use a policy that gives a free ride to illegals and minorities.
As soon as I complete the book I am writing, I am planning to write a book called "Liberal Utopia as seen through the eyes of a Conservative." It will address sanctuary laws, gun confescation from law abiding citizens, and the concept of killing unborn babies and claiming the death penalty for murders is cruel and unusual punishment. Among other illogical liberal policies.
They witlessly think that their districts/cities are superior because they have less people in prison. It's all about the numbers but all they seem to achieve is a state of chaos. A reflection of their thinking. Then again I am not a liberal and cannot fathom how their flawed logic and minds really work.
"Liberal Utopia as seen through the eyes of a Conservative." It's always amusing to see such a vibrant, exchange of ideas by such a wide range of advocates and critics. Is blithely allowing release on bail for the wealthy who can easily afford it while forcing the taxpayer to bear the burden of supporting folks of modest means a nifty idea? A basic principle of the American justice system is that all people are innocent until proven guilty, and that defendants should not be unnecessarily punished or detained before a finding of guilt. "Lock up the poor!" is a notion that merits more serious consideration.
Facts still matter: Data shows sanctuary cities keep communities safer https://thehill.com/opinion/immigra...shows-sanctuary-cities-keep-communities-safer The Effects of Sanctuary Policies on Crime and the Economy https://www.americanprogress.org/is...-sanctuary-policies-on-crime-and-the-economy/ More often than not, "liber logic" is based on empirical data. You know.......like the scientifically proven effect of burning carbon based fuel on the climate. That can't be said for the anti-immigrant policies of this admin, driven by a desire to tap in to the unfounded, visceral bigotry of The Following.
70% of inmates in local jails are not convicted of any crime https://achnews.org/2019/12/09/70-of-inmates-in-local-jails-are-not-convicted-of-any-crime/
Why are some screeching that the taxpayer should foot the bill to "Lock them up!" indefinitely, regarding all these individuals convicted of nothing? Some may desperately need assistance, but surely less socially onerous approaches can be adopted.
And yet in post after post we see "liberals," Democrats, and Independents posting fact after fact and data and charts to support their opinions. On the other hand, from Trump supporters we seldom see any factual data to support their opinions. We do see a lot of personal attack, meme's and emotional response in support of Trump. In short, your post is a demonstration of emotion based on no factual evidence or data.
You have described every prison in the world. Do you really think prisons are unnecessary because the lock up criminals that are poor, and are funded by taxpayers? What about giving the poor free handouts? You avoided answering the question. How does releasing criminals without bail, or releasing illegal criminals back into the public to commit more crimes make communities safer? Our justice system may be based on the concept that a person is innocent until proven guilty, but there has to be a way to ensure criminals actually shows up for their trials. Further, evidence shows that criminals release without bail will commit more crimes. The same is true of illegal criminals. So again, how does releasing criminals without bail, and illegal criminals back into the public make communities safe?
Of course, I have suggested no such thing. I do see the sense in ending cash-bail for non-violent felonies and misdemeanors as a reasonable approach to reducing the incarceration rate and relieving the taxpayer of such a financial burden in incarcerating individuals who have been convicted of nothing and cannot afford bail. You can reference both state and federal budgets that allocate taxpayer dollars for incarcerating individuals who have been accused of non-violent crimes and misdemeanors, but are too poor to post bail. Some folks are adamant that such individuals be housed and fed at taxpayer expense. I would not hold the taxpayer responsible for those individuals I have described.
