    Fundraising?

We've all seen that Hillary's bigger war chest wan't a final predictor of the winner.

Besides that, Bloomberg has promised to throw in an additional $200 million+ to the campaign against Trump, whether he is the nominee or not.

Nothing more amusing that a paid shill for the criminal IMPOTUS's campaign.

Having read the entire thread AND all of the links it is patently obvious that you only got 1 out of 5 correct and that is that the Dems do have an appalling track record when it comes to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Your criminal IMPOTUS is taking credit from others given that his gross INCOMPETENCE establishes that NOTHING that he has tried to achieve has succeeded.

Fundraising is MEANINGLESS and the amount cited is pitiful. Ironically it was your own criminal IMPOTUS that proved that fundraising is IRRELEVANT to campaigns nowadays. ActBlue and social media are cheap ways to run highly effective campaigns thereby NULLIFYING the ability of the Wall Street Casino Banksters to PURCHASE elections in the future. This thread is EVIDENCE of the use of social media at low cost.

Prediction models can be CHERRY PICKED to support whatever you want them to tell you which is clearly what is happening here. The ones that were NOT cited in the OP linked article but were kindly researched by @nobodyspecific clearly established that the original article is less than transparent. The Luskin model has zero credibility and the Moody's model is predicting a potential defeat for the criminal IMPOTUS in the event of a high turnout election. Progressives set records for turnout in 2018 and are highly motivated to do the same thing in 2020. Betting on a low turnout would be a dumb move IMO.

Underestimating Bernie seems to be commonplace and the reasons are manifold with a certain degree of credence behind them. However the INTANGIBLES are considerably harder to measure and therefore ignored. The criminal IMPOTUS is no longer the "new kid on the block" and he is definitely NOT going to get the same degree of free airtime that he benefited from in 2016. His message is old and stale and he seems incapable of reaching out to other voter demographics in significant numbers. It is patently obvious that his own campaign is aware of this egregious shortcoming and is trying to use surrogates to "fill in the gaps". Their problem is that the Orange oaf undercuts them whenever he tweets or opens his big mouth. Bernie just needs to be Bernie and allow the criminal IMPOTUS to defeat himself in 2020.

FTR I plan on watching this thread and others like it because they are insights into the criminal IMPOTUS's campaign.

It's too early to tell. Fund raising in today's modern technological world doesn't mean what it use to. Hillary raised and spent 1.191 billion in 2016 to Trump's 646.8 million and still lost. The reason was Trump was very media savvy whereas Hillary wasn't.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/graphics/2016-presidential-campaign-fundraising/

I also think one needs to remember that Trump won the independent vote 46-42 over Hillary with 12% of independents voting against both Trump and Clinton. Winning the independent vote put Trump in the White House. The GOP is still the smaller of the two major parties, hence winning the independent vote is a must. Based on 2016 we know 42% of indies liked the Democrats. 12% were disgusted with both major party nominees. We know that those 12% didn't like Trump. I doubt they changed their minds much after almost 4 years. If the Democrats nominate someone who is attractive to independents, most of those 12% independent voters can be had for the Democrats. Not knowing who the Democrats will nominate, they remain an unknown. Another nominee as disliked or disliked more than Trump could mean another 2016 is certainly possible.

Trump's main problem is his persona, his personality which turns off quite a lot of independents who expect a president to act, presidential. They may like some of his policies, stances on issues, even the job he is doing on the economy, but dislike the man personally. The individual. This may be hard to overcome. We seen this in the 2018 midterms, almost all the indicators in the positive, yet independents voted for a Democratic congress 54-42 over the GOP. A way of saying, we do not like the man that is president, not necessarily his actions or non-actions. But the man himself. That may be too much to overcome. But it all depends on who is the Democratic nominee.

Bernie's support is weak. What's going on is the "moderate" vote is being split about three different days, and the "progressive" lane is just Bernie. Bernie is quite capable of simply losing this whole thing on the merits, without anyone rigging anything against him.

I massively disapprove of communism, but if the strategy is to claim that Bernie is a communist, when what he wants to do is move us toward a model that's worked quite well for Germany over the years (socialized medical insurance and free college)... Bernie will walk away with this thing. He's not even a proper socialist. He stupidly calls himself one, but he's not.

Even most of his supporters can't stand him. They're just in it for the tax cuts, deregulation, judges, and border wall.

You have any kids? I would be mortified if mine grew up to be like Trump: cheating on every wife, scamming people (Trump U), scamming your own charity, pathological lying, whining, bragging, etc.

I agree with your take on the wall - The Dem partisanship has been over the top - doesn't matter what he does "Bad Trump - Bad Trump" - like they are taking a page from Hillary's election strategy play book - and that did not turn out too well.

Usually when folks give a list of Trumps mighty accomplishments - some of the things on the list are false or not really attributable to Trump and/or exaggerated.

Our regulatory system is a mess - China has more free and fair economic conditions according to folks like Jim Rogers. There is more competition than ever for global capital and we are not helping ourselves with dumb regulations that make it very difficult to do business. On this basis I liked what Trump did. I also liked his stance on Pipelines.

The economy has relatively good under Trump - but the underlying fundamentals are not nearly as good as touted. The Manufacturing index was negative for the last 4 months except the last one when it ticked slightly above negative. That is not good. Much of the good economic times can be attributed to massive deficit spending. Credit card spending is not the ideal way to stimulate the economy.

The question of his personality is one of voter preference. I maintain that many of Trumps personality flaws have been overshadowed by the Dems attacking Trump non stop. It is human nature to root for the underdog.

Bernie is a Socialist AND a Communist.
The Communists were Socialists - Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
The Nazis were Socialists - National Socialist German Workers Party

Socialism was their economic model, and just like their politics it depends on complete control of peoples' lives. Only a fool would hand their lives over to Socialism.

Let me put it this way: most of Trump's supporters had HUGE problems with Bill Clinton's behavior. And rightly so. That was a shameful episode in feminist history.

So it stands to reason if Trump supporters hated Clinton's behavior, they don't like that kind of behavior in Trump, either. I know the Christians sure don't. You're not going to find too many Evangelicals who approve of sleeping around, or defrauding charities, or using your wealth/power to grab *****.

It's a transactional relationship, the same one the feminists made with Bill Clinton: you give us good judges, and we'll tolerate your utter amorality. Such relationships often end badly. When one member of the relationship is a narcissist, it always ends badly. Always.

The way it ended badly for us Democrats, is we tolerated Bill Clinton's misdeeds. And then 20 years later, who do we have as a nominee? His wife. And who are we running against? A sleazebag. And we couldn't take it to Trump properly because Bill Clinton, and all his sleaziness, was always lurking in the shadows.

It is true that Bernie is a Socialist. Trump is an even bigger Socialist.

The use of the word "Communist" is silly as this - as was practiced in the Soviet Union and China - is an extreme form of totalitarian socialism
    that Bernie does not want.

Equating Bernie - A Jew - with the Nazi's is equally silly.

Someone who is "socialist" and not "communist" shouldn't have been on the side of the Soviet Union and Cuba during the cold war. What am I supposed to call a socialist who supports communist regimes? How about a communist?

You mean a guy who's using govt. money to bail out farmers? The same guy who also "fell in love" with Communist dictator Kim Jong Un?

Everyone forgets just who it is Bernie's running against.

Part of the problem with the corruption of the news media is how uneducated and ignorant it leaves it's slavish followers, to the point that they don't even realize that the federal government has had multi billion dollar farm bills for decades. Did you seriously not know that we've been constantly bailing out farmers since the Great Depression?

Of course I know that. That's why calling out Bernie's socialism is so stupid and hypocritical. We've been a socialist country for a long time now. Bernie wants to expand that. Bernie's problem is he wants to GREATLY expand that.

And the news media had nothing to do with Trump falling in love with Kim. That was utterly insane. He should have been removed the next day for that.

Trump will have the same trouble applying the "communist lover" label to Bernie that we had applying the "deplorable" label to Trump. Trump loves brutal dictators! He loves people like Duerte. He falls in love with communist leaders! He sided with RUSSIA over our own intelligence people. You'll see all this play out in campaign ads.

Funny to see folks trying to down play the socialist aspects of Bernie and how it not cost him the White House.

It will be his downfall if he gets the nomination. it’s to large and soft a target for Trump not to hit and do extensive damage to Bernie on. America (not you Lefties, we know you are) is not ready for a POTUS that labels himself a socialistic. He will not carry the moderate votes he would need to beat Trump.

Of course first he has to beat the DNC before he gets the chance at Trump. He might not make it past them.

He won’t use “communist” he will use ”socialist” just as he did during the State Of The Union. That plays already in action.

I very much agree with that. I was in that boat for most of the presidency - mostly apathetic toward it. He's had some successes that Democrats refuse to acknowledge. It made the daily attacks on him feel disingenuous, despite personal shortcomings that warranted it.

But then the WB complaint broke, and I started paying a lot closer attention. Went back and actually bothered to read the Mueller report. At this point I feel resigned to voting for the D nominee regardless of differences I may have with them on policy. The wholesale undermining of anything that might check the office of the presidency is honestly a greater threat than any single policy that may be reversed by a future administration, or stymied by a congress that is not fully on board.

Ahhh, after some quick Googling, now you know that we've been doing farm bills for decades, and that it didn't start with Trump, as was your claim in #39. At least I know on what level I'm dealing with.

well if you are willing to actually give Trump credit for Obama’s accomplishments I guess you can overlook the fact that not one economic metric has changed direction or slope since Trump took office. That of course does exclude the deficit.

So what would you call Russia? And you will be very hard put to find a single thing Trump has done to hurt Russia or decrease it’s influence. And actions Congress forced on Trump don’t count!
