With no conditions. Well have to see what sort of conditions Bernie would want. If none, I agree he’s tripping.
Inviting them required none, rejoining did. That was the G7/G8...something they were once a member of, in which Italy, Germany, and Japan have all called for their return...well before the United States suggested it as well. What Sanders is suggesting is something totally different, a completely new military defense treaty with Russia. You have to remember NATO was created for one reason, to defend againts Russia. Destroying it, and creating a new treaty with Russia, is something Putin would love. Not surprised to see Sanders support this, given his love for all things Soviet
on it's face it's not a very good look. Though, I do understand that it's easier to influence another country who is part of the circle then it is to influence one who is outside the circle. Also, Russia isn't communist anymore, so it's kinda funny for those who think that the guy they believe is a 'commie' is somehow cozying up to Russia because of that connection. Anyway, I'd have to hear many more details, but suffice to say, a Russia under Putin is not a friend to democracy in any way shape or form.
I think its a good idea. Russia has a vast nuclear arsenal. Us working with the Russians is not only a good idea for the safety of the world, its necessary. That Trump wanted to improve relations with Russia is his one saving grace. Whether it's Bernie or Trump, we should work to improve our relations with not just Russia, but all countries.
He is, he wants to rule it in harmony with his protege, that's been the idea all along. I believe Putin wants to be the world's first trillionaire. If Trump gets a 2nd term they can loot the US and Russia together https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/money-and-power/a14480615/vladimir-putin-net-worth/
Did Sanders just tell Russis that he they help him win he would reward them with all the benefits NATO had to offer?
Putin isn't even remotely interested, and his protege Sanders won't be rockin' the Hammer & Sickle in the White House like he did in the mayor's office in Burlington..
Essentially. I mean, they have already been helping him...but this will put it over the edge. this is akin to the “more flexible” promise Obama gave
Stop the violence in Ukraine. Same conditions the other countries that supported it wanted. Russia said no thanks
Every single President since Reagan won the Cold War with the Soviet Union has called for improving relations with Russia. All of them were congratulated for those efforts, except one. When Hillary and the DNC paid a British spy to go collude with the Russians and write a fallacious dossier in order to influence the outcome of the 2016 election, suddenly "Russia" and building a relationship with that country became a big issue. Has Hillary called Bernie a "Russian Asset" yet....or has Ms. "Russia Conspiracy" only called Tulsi Gabbard and Trump "assets" so far in 2020?
I’m all for inviting Russia into NATO at some point in the future. But they have to at least try to be a normal, responsible nation first. China is the enemy.
Russia is likely to always be a foe, just like China. There is the wise old adage though, "Always keep your friends close and your enemies closer." Keeping communications open and a relationship going is the best strategy.
Russia can be like that guy from your high school that you really hated. But China is the jerk from your rival high school that just stole your school’s mascot.
You should study up on Putin. There are countless videos on the internet that will answer your question.
China and Russia are the rival high school. Together (with Iran/Syria) they hope to become the next global economic power, thus the new world police. They have the oil, the means of production and the consumer base to be independent and grow. They're laughing at the U.N. globalists' pressure on the 1st world countries to stop using our natural resources and open our borders to the world's impoverished. We have bigger global issues than "just" Russia.
Russia’s economy is smaller than Italy’s. They’re puny. But they have a lot of land and natural resources. In a crowded planet with sea levels rising, they could become very successful. I think it’s best to reduce tensions with them, and nudge them into becoming a responsible, capitalist democracy. China is hopeless.
I've studied Putin. I've been listening to the anti-American propaganda spewing out of the Kremlin for years. Don't get me wrong - I wish the U.S. and Russia had better relations but the good intentions of our presidents isn't enough. The men in the Kremlin have to want it, too. Furthermore, I don't blame Putin entirely for the lousy state of U.S.-Russian relations. Had the Clinton Administration not squandered the opportunity to cultivate better relations with Russia and her people after the fall of the Soviet Union things would be much different today. That's our fault.
