Buttigieg has announced he is suspending his presidential bid and returning to Indiana where he will announce his withdrawal from the presidential race.

As much as I like Liz, it needs to be down to Biden and and Bernie soon.

Most likely we will see him again. Trump will be leaving office at the end of 2024, and I fully expect Buttigieg to run for the presidency again. But since he will be doing so as someone known to the nation, he might go all the way to the nomination next time. It rather depends if he can find some credible way between now and then to gain national level experience that matters to the voters.

Just think of how many low cost houses could have been built for the homeless with the millions squandered on advertising by Buttigieg,Steyer and Bloomberg, let alone the other candidates.

He didn't deserve to be there in the first place. Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for letting him get that far in the first place. He proved exactly what a clown show you folks were running. Whatever he does between now and the end of Trump's second term will not get him the black vote. His quest for the White House is over...

I would venture a guess he has a higher IQ than any of the other candidates running for office in both parties.

What? This said by a Trump supporter?

    Are ya kidding?

Mayor Pete was my preferred choice but unfortunately this is not his year.

I think he realized after South Carolina that he could not win and he was hurting Joe Biden by siphoning off moderate votes.

Yea, he's that kind of guy...

I respectfully disagree. If Sanders gets the nomination, that will be a guidepost of where the Democrat Party is going ideologically. If the trend continues that the Democrats continue farther to the left, he'll be considered too moderate for consideration. I mean, Joe Biden has a lot of name recognition, and he's a far away from the nomination as compared to Sanders. Then again, Biden is a terrible presidential campaigner, so, eh, I guess it is all up in the air.

In this country if you're 35 years of age and a natural born citizen you can run for president. He was qualified to run.

    Funny you should mention that.
    "
Asked what he thinks of Buttigieg, Carter praised the former mayor and shared some candid commentary on his fight for the Democratic Party's nomination. The pair was joined by their spouses for the morning meal at the Buffalo Café.

"I've liked him since I first met him. Year before last we built houses for Habitat for Humanity in South Bend, Indiana, because he was there," Carter told reporters. "We got to know him then and I've liked him ever since."

I saw Buttigieg as a capable, likeable and decent person. Perhaps next time he will be better known and stronger, wiser and cooler!

Yeh, the war hero posted in another thread posing in country with an m-4 with no optic and the rear site in the folded down position. Genius. At least he has the ejection port cover closed!

Don't forget identity politics and image. It all depends on what the DNC wants to push as the latest chic issue or person.

Reporters asked old Peter Buttiegig how he was taking it and he responded "What, Me Worry?"

Pete was the best person running. It’s ashame the party leadership pushed him out before Super Tuesday to try and save Biden.

he’s the only one that stood a chance against Trump
