1. .....CDC also estimates deaths in the United States using mathematical modeling. CDC estimates that from 2010-2011 to 2017-2018, influenza-associated deaths in the United States ranged from a low of 12,000 (during 2011-2012) to a high of 79,000 (during 2017-2018 ). The model used to estimate flu-associated deaths uses a ratio of deaths-to-hospitalizations in order to estimate the total flu-related deaths during a season.... 2. CDC estimates that so far this season there have been at least 36 million flu illnesses, 370,000 hospitalizations and 22,000 deaths from flu. 3. Donald Trump tweeted on March 9, 2020: "So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!" 4. This is the implication of his tweet: "What's the farce about? After all, life & the economy go on as per normal even between 27,000 and 70,000 Americans die per year from something that is very normal and common in the US."
Yes......these alarmist lefties are pathetic. That tall glass of water, Mr Trump has this under control. God speed Mr Trump. No way will you declare a state of emergency. God bless America.
Do you have a point? Yes the flu kills people. The low end estimates is 1.5 million Americans will die over the next year from cofefe-19 the high is 15 million.
(Shrug) It's obviously all been about politics with the Left's leadership and their Mainstream Media outlets PUSHING panic through the average citizen with the goal being to cripple the economy while blaming Trump for everything. Ironically it's mostly the political Left that is panicking because they are the only ones who remain conditioned to believe leftist generated political propaganda.
Yeah, and that was with us having a flu virus vaccination available. How many would have died if no one had their vaccination shot?? That's what we're facing with the Coronavirus.
Trump has been building distrust of the medical and scientific community for three years - and you are surprised that people aren't rusting the medical and scientific community when they try and paint a realistic picture of COVID 19? Sorry dude - but Trump built this crazy reaction. He owns it. We had scares will SARS and Ebola over the last decade, but people didn't panic like this. Why? Because they had trust in government institutions to handle it. Trump has been eroding that trust because it helped him politically. Trump built this.
Hopefully that "estimate" is wrong I can't imagine that many people dying. That would be really messed up. But, regardless of the number (200,000 or 1.5 Million), all of those people have families. And, all of those people will KNOW that the blame (for not containing the Virus earlier) falls squarely on Trump. With his buffoonish mishandling of the Virus, Trump has just written the ads that will be used against him in the Fall. An exercise in Amateurish Buffoonery which will (certainly) cost him the Presidency.
Seeing how the flu has a survival rate that 340x higher than the coronavirus, we need take into consideration that if the coronavirus were to become as common as the flu, we would potentially be experiencing over 12 million deaths per year. That is why we must take serious precautions to prevent the virus from spreading, and becoming a more common occurrence in our society and abroad. Yes currently more people die of the flu, but that is only because the flu is far more common. The survival rate of the flu is 99.9% Case in point, we must take serious measures to prevent the coronavirus from spreading. This is no time for shortsighted politics
The WHO has declared Europe the new epicenter of the pandemic, but if Politically Correct USA leftists WANT to fly to the E.U. and shake hands with everyone I say let them go and enjoy.
Because of the leadership vacuum at the top, states and businesses have taken it upon themselves to enact measures to slow down the spread. There was a cascade of school closures the past couple days. By midweek, there probably won't be any schools open. That's what I was waiting to see happen. But we waited far too long to do it. For six crucial weeks or so, we let this spread uncontrolled, and we still don't have a real idea of how many people have this. The measures that were taken in the last couple days will mitigate the spread, but we're in for a couple weeks of some really awful numbers. Some expert on one of the political shows said this might peak in May.
Of course that's if everyone gets a the flu shot before they come down with the flu Getting a flu shot once your sick does nothing!!
Is Trump also responsible for not containing the virus in Europe which, despite their much ballyhooed universal healthcare, is doing much worse than we in the US is?
WE? I'm certainly not nor do I live in China.. Speak for yourself and from the "WE" I assume you are Chinese?
Plus the flu vaccine is type specific. There is no general flu vaccination. So when people are getting their 'flu' shot if they get exposed to something not included in the inoculation contents then they come down with illness anyway.
They didn't panic because while Obama wasn't a great President, he was a steady hand. Trump is a drama queen and nobody, including his own staff, know what the hell he's going to do from one day to the next. First, COVID 19 is hoax - then it's a National Emergency. Trump is not a steady hand.
Honestly? I have no idea. What I DO KNOW is This: His "handling" of this Virus will cost him the Presidency. That whole "Silver Lining" thing.
Yessssssss . . . because the legs-tingling Obamagasming MSM did not overtly worship Barack Obama and spin and cover for him with frantic zeal no matter what.
Nope, that's on the E.U. They let people come and go between member states but apparently have no plans for a pandemic like this. Germany is just now shutting their school system down. We're not the only country that completely botched the response. Human nature, I guess. No one ever wants to admit there's a plague loose upon the land.
So everybody should just go about their business because it is "no worse than the flu"? Nothing to see here? Got it.
Then again Mr. Obatard only spoke from a script and a prompter so all you got from him was MSM propaganda
Then you think it is possible that Trump is responsible for the terrible situation in Italy, for example. You will have to excuse me if I am not impressed by your skills as a prognosticator. That whole "Silver Lining" thing.[/QUOTE] [/qu
So you're still at the "Hide in the house" and panic mode.. So how long you gonna be in lock down and are you going to hide in there every time the media warns of a virus.. What a life, might as well be dead then to live like that..
