That's no excuse to hide it once they knew it was a problem. They literally censored the doctors that warned the country a month into this virus in November when it was community spreading. Come on why in the world would you make that statement, call it straight.

 

Which is obvious but we have put hospital beds over the economy, which in turn will actually ruin more lives than the coronavirus.
If we had chosen a mitigation strategy, we could've avoided the inflationary "injection" stimulus packages that we forced down our throats.

I'm very concerned about what's going to happen in a few months time financially.

 

Hmmmm, their exports has grown every year since 2000 but I won't push this because the thread is about the Wuhan virus.

 

Yeah, I don't want to get into the weeds with this, either. I'll just say that what I posted was as a % of GDP, so actual amounts could increase while the % was decreasing.

The problem started with our response to this pandemic started when Trump fired those working on emergency pandemic response.

And, it has continued by having Trump leading this effort while repeatedly telling us stuff that is well known to be false.

3/9- fake new made up by Dems.

I know the things you refer to, and they are things we speculated as well: Could flu shot work, etc? We were told that it couldn't. But there's no harm in hoping for hope(as Trump was doing.) It's certainly preferable to the wrecking ball hammer we've put on the economy.

It's not ridiculous at all, had the vote gone the other way, we're with a vice president Pence(maybe. Let's not forget Schiff/Pelosi tried to remove him as well). Imagine if that had succeeded? Both the POTUS/VP, gone. And the third person on the succession list? Speaker Pelosi(how convenient) but there's no way she'd be up to speed with this.

Not only did impeachment take time and focus away from the looming threat, had it succeeded we would've had a government nightmare.

This goes all the way back to the Mueller Fiasco aka Crossfire Hurricane. In 3 years, we've wasted a lot of time and angst on fruitless efforts to "remove or damage Orange Man Bad.". And well, you technically got your wish as we are now being governed by the lab coats in this stupid experiment.

In fact, considering that it was the Left that screamed "do something". I'll consider this the start of the Democratic Administration.

Their economy is still export based. Out of 1.5 billion only 500 million have climbed out of poverty

You have to have disposable income to be a consumption based economy instead of export driven.

The 1 billion are still poor and have little disposable income. So not much of a consumer . This insures a slave labor export driven economy.

As a former Liberal, I can look at the sad state of the party and acknowledge it for what it is.

 

Even more ridiculous to blame Trump when the FDA approvals ALONE weren't set up from a rules and reg standpoint to handle this, or testing. If you think they should've put a test out with a 30-40% false reading, then you've lost your mind. The panic from unreliability would have been way worse than what we have now. So let me be clear, once they found a test Trump's team figured out how to change the FDA approval process to get the reliable test approved. They also worked with private business to figure out how to automate the results, which lead to a 2 day turnaround vs a 7-10 turnaround. They started doing the only thing you can do in America and have been for a month and that's telling Americans how to avoid getting it. Social distancing, wash your damn hands and avoiding public places, most didn't listen until this week. They've been giving a Daily update every day keeping us in the loop every step of the way, killing regulations across the board, meeting governors daily to handle their needs as requested on and on and on. The China ban helped as well as some other bans. We didn't create this, we didn't hide it, we came up with a reliable test that was fast tracked, we've found a vaccine that is being fast tracked, we now have real treatments that apparently are healing everyone it's tried on and its being fast tracked as well as another that was just developed and the fda approval for human testing is also going on with the sickest of the sick from the Wuhan Virus.

 

So they say. I'd like to believe that but their honesty has been questionable from the beginning

So far as I've seen, they've been given high marks for their testing program.

You've now added the claim that the error is both in false positives AND false negatives.

And, you've given no time period on your claim.

I don't see a way to reconcile your claims and the statements of US experts that I've seen.

 

Part of the power of the President is that he can waive any regs he wants in an emergency.

I think so too. It's becoming very clear that Americans are just too ****ing stupid to just stay the hell at home. I went to pick up my grand daughter today and there was just as much traffic as ever. We either are going to need the government to force the gaddam fools to stay home or we wait for the hospitals to start over-flowing.

 

Please cite suppport that this was EVER a tradeoff.

The point I've made on this is that our response was delayed by about 2 months and that we've gotten false information on COVID from this administration throughout the process.

Our major tool continues to be social separation and washing practices. That was defeated during the period where Trump and others propagated the story that this pandemic was a non-event. In fact, Fox and other right wing "news" programming stated that this was a Democratic plot - up through last FRIDAY.

Have Fox, Reagan, Hannity, Rushbo and the rest issued statements that this is EXTREMELY serious and that government leadership must be followed???
