    I read this and thought... WTF? Who is "everyone above the theoretical authoritarian limit"? And more, why would you count yourself as part of that group? Democrats are the party of government authoritarianism.

    What does that have to do with what COVID19 actually stands for. If you’re upset at the meaning behind the acronym I suggest you take it up with WHO. K?

    Spain didn't have a damn thing to do with starting that 1918 flu. There was a war on and authorities were censoring newspapers everywhere. Spain was neutral, didn't take a side. If a newspaper writer blamed Spain their work would get through the censors and get published. So that's what they did.

    The likely origins were China, Kansas, or a barracks somewhere that I forget. But nobody really knows where it started. Spain was never a suspect.

    It was an MSM thing.

    Why is the GOP refusing to address the PAID SICK LEAVE issue for workers who are either sick or quarantined out of the workplace by the government??And why won't they attach payback provisions to the bailouts being offered to corporations and businesses as was done in 2008 bail outs???

    You also seem to be very confused. First off we all know where it came from. No one had ever denied where it came from. Second, I have no issue with calling it Wuhan flu. My issue was with someone INCORRECTLY stating the meaning of COVID19. Not sure why you guys are struggling with that concept. I would have thought you both could have grasped that from the get go. Apparently I have given you both too much credit.

    There's not a single valid definition of "racist" or :"bigot" that covers the choice to refer to a flu that originated in China as the Chinese flu.

    I can see your confusion as belief tends to cause it when reality raises it’s scary head. Republicans and conservatives in general like to pretend that liberals and Democrats are authoritarians yet can produce no real evidence to back such a claim. Other than, “Look a pretty flower, Democrats must be authoritarians.”

    The fact that Republicans are all gung ho for more police and jails seems to not to occur to them that that is authoritarian. That they think they should hit their children also seem to elude their understanding of what an authoritarian is. Or the fact that I, while living in a bright blue oasis, can do with impunity what would get me ten years in a red muck state.

    However, there is a theoretical limit to those who enthusiastically support authoritarians and authoritarian ideas. It is around 37%. It was the percentage who supported Lenin and Hitler. Both Ferdinand and later Franco in Spain had about that much support, as did Mussolini. Trump’s support never gets much higher that 40%.
