The RW drumbeat to oust Fauci has begun

As predicted, the RW blogosphere and media have found a new enemy of the day: Dr. Tony Fauci.

How long can Trump resist the RW drumbeat against Fauci until he ousts him? It is clear that Trump himself is rather hesitant to follow the expert's prescriptions of widespread social distancing, one just has to look at his body language standing next to these experts.

Next, the drumbeat will increase to "open up the country for business" rather sooner than later. He'll find a RW "expert" who'll give the blessing. No fact required.

The fact-free RW is starting to get dangerous to the country. Many deaths will be their responsibility because they first downplayed the virus threat, leading to the US becoming the country with the largest number of infections, and then peddled false hope with "cures". Next, they'll want to go back to business as usual. This is not just irresponsible, but goes far beyond that...

I am sure Trump fans will believe that they are winning if Trump gets rid of Fauci as his adviser in this matter.

Fauci will absolutely be the Covid advisor in 2 weeks, aside from perhaps the chances that he comes down with the virus himself or something else that would render him incapacitated. Even if you want to sit there and conclude that Trump is the worst human being on earth, one thing you can not accuse him of is being electorally stupid. Fauci is nearly universally respected amongst the general public. To get rid of him would be electorally idiotic. It is not going to happen.

In the meantime, Trump and the RW media have previously managed to turn opinion against others who used to be respected by the general public. McCain comes to mind. So, there is precedent.

 

The only person quoted in that piece that I knew said this "The president was right, and frankly Fauci was wrong,” Lou Dobbs said Monday....and that was in regards to getting the economy back moving. Nothing about getting rid of Fauci.

FWIW....While being the nominee in 2008, the Republican base had never cared much for Mcain (myself included). He always had been the very definition of a RINO, and most of us voted for him while holding our collective noses ( the same thing applied to Romney). Getting many Republicans to dislike him is not a great feat. There isnt really a valid analogy to be drawn between Fauci and Mcain.

 

I keep seeing the "official" infection numbers from China... And they just don't add up. There was a set up analytics there were briefly available around the end of dec early Jan that showed hundreds of thousands of infections. But "officially" it's now under 65K. The wonders of state controlled media. This is so alien, and yet it seems exactly what so many of our NDP faithful hope for. And the fawning all over the Chinese government for so "rapidly dealing" with their outbreak... And yet hundreds if not thousands of infected folks from China got on airplanes and landed all over the planet carrying this virus. Should we start to question the morality of the Chinese leadership now that we actually will have forensic evidence of their likely calculated plot to allow the virus to escape their boarders? And in the offing are we going to finally call out the democrats who stood in lock step resistance to ANY efforts to secure the boarders?

 

I think you are correct. STIFLED maybe but still standing behind Trump. The important thing is to wholly discredit him amongst the rabid Trump freak set, aka Trumpworld.

Now that's laughable aka Mr. Maverick was the left's favorite Republican until he ran against Obama. It was amazing how quick the left turned on him and how vicious they got. McCain was never that popular in Republican circles. Because we knew he'd always betray us when it was important

 

Deborah Birx is the most important member of his team.. She has the internal medicine skill set and Pharma background that far outweighs Fauci's logistical skill set.

But I doubt that Fauci will all of a sudden go missing from the team. I think that he knows that his reputation would suffer if he decides to exit before things improve in the Blue states where the virus wasn't quarantined out of the gate.
