Except they win popular votes... quite frequently. Which party got shut down in NC for fraud? Which party took a case to SCOTUS so they could continue with partisan gerrymandering? Which party is forcing people to vote in person in the middle of a pandemic? Which party hasn’t had an initial presidential popular vote win in three decades? Yeh, your deflection is worse than normal today, not even in the realm of truth. Bad week?
Run everyones vote through a central database and fine anyone voting more than once. They lose their vote and get penalized. Do the same thing with deceased records — central database. Other issues?
In the matter of elections of president of the united states, the popular vote is not legitimate and is of absolutely no importance. Ultimately that is the only truth needed in the matter.
Surely, you will oppose any voting system that does not prevent a person from voting in two (or more) states in the same election.
Absolutely I would! I am supporting anyone - right or left - who is looking to the future and working to develop a system that is legal, fair and foolproof for November, in case 'in person' voting is not possible. I'm part of the 'can do' mentality - so given the time, perhaps something can be developed.
And, just as surely, when Pelosi's legislation for vote-by-mail does not container the provisions necessary to prevent a person from voting in two (or more) states in the same election, you will oppose it.
Not a bad idea as long as they also have a database in who is a legal citizen. Anyone voting who is not a legal Citizen should be deported.
I am fine with any and all databases and checks to verify a voters identity and eligibility — the goal should be to get as many people that want to vote to do so. I have never understood how people give their party the pass to corrupt our systems in order to “win”. That isn’t winning, it is coercion
We have apps that track when your pizza goes in the oven at pizza places — we should be able to have an app that tracks and verifies both the voter and their vote. Why do conservatives want to mimic the 1950’s so intensely?
I never said it was — it was in response to “They are unable to win popular votes on their ideas” — but thanks for that tired strawman. I am sure the poster I was responding to will be along any moment to regurgitate the exact same thing you just did.
Most likely because most women, blacks, and hispanics knew their places and didn't vote as much as they do today??
Yeah, those are all loser solutions for Conservatives and Republicans... and they know it, and thus will fight them to the death...
Just curious: Why does Pelosi think the federal government has the power to dictate what voting method a state uses?
Again - yes - I will. I am not a die hard fan of any politician. If the legislation doesn't protect the integrity of the vote, I will oppose it. Question for you - if the House does find a way to protect that integrity and keep everyone safe, will you support it?
The Voting Rights Act became law and was enforced — having the option to vote by mail would be far less intrusive than that law was.
Their answer will be no every time, regardless of what protections or concessions are given. They know their ideology is in the minority and they know they must force it on an unwilling populace. Fascism is their real ideology
Well then they are useless, aren't they? Bringing thousands of people to one location defeats the purpose.
So what has this whole exchange been about? Your attempt to play 'gotcha'? Silly me for playing along.
As do Republicans. In 2016 they won 30 to the Democrats 21 for President. Why does that one case matter? You'd have to be more specific. The law did. Neither they both win a share of the popular votes which occur. You mean my rebuttals or you specious points is at an all time high?
