Huh? BTW I looked up your uploads Makes me believe you are eh FREE MENG WANZHOU! Held in Over 1 Year.
I'm very curious ... how will you define this new denomination? I assume Christianity of some sort, but I admit that there are already so many "flavors" of Christianity that it makes me dizzy.
I'm right there with you. All major and not so major religions have a common message: My church is the one true church. My faith is the one true faith. My god is the one true god. Please give us your money. Personally, I prefer knowledge to belief, but I'm aware that I'm in the minority on that ... most people believe in one god or another. And during this time of crisis, I empathize with believers who are suddenly denied the comforts of congregation.
Ooh, thank you. I just love it when someone gives something new and interesting to google. On the other hand . . . Eew! Castration? Masectomy? No wonder they died out!
Right. Much easier to brainwash your own children from birth than someone else's after they're grown.
LOL! I assumed it was meant to be the French form of "me." It never occurred to me that it might be an acronym.
That reminds me of the followers of Gor, who advocate a philosophy that technology has made modern men effete and we should return to the stronger ways necessary in bygone years. Recently they have started promoting this mainly through using a worldwide network of computers
How did you know that was name? My generation can do some basic navigation, but are pretty ignorant. Every time I think about the things I do out of ignorance, I'm thinking about Bernie Sanders telling Hillary Clinton, "Everybody's tired of hearing about your damn e mails." Her actions were acts of ignorance. So, sometimes I'm thinking 25 years ago and I was trying to figure out what a computer could do that we weren't already doing.
Recently? They were big on IRC over 20 years ago, and in Second Life for over a decade. I always thought it sounded like something you coughed up out of your throat when it was full of phlegm.
It's been that long? Does Second Life still exist? I was a whole whorehouse all by myself in there at one time
I still have my official Doctorate of Divinity from the Unitarian Universalist Church. My particular and individual branch believes that any religion advocating the worship of anything is inherently blasphemous and the only people who will go to Hell without exception are priests. I can still marry you though (my record for polyamorous groups is 3 women, 5 men and a goat, but he was really just a pet) and I park anywhere with clergy plates
Oh yea. In fact, it actually has a lot of people either returning or checking it out at the moment since so many are stuck at home and bored. At least there you can go to a party or hang out at a club, and not worry about getting sick or breaking the law. I often thought it would be a riot to get a group from in here there, to hang around and discuss things in real time. Some I see have not played in years, and are amazed at the changes in the last 5+ years since they were last on. But the entire "sex industry" there imploded a decade ago. Today the economy is driven by the creators.
I'm thankful that we live in a country that allows you to be able to practice what you believe in. I could question the veracity of your tenets of faith, but then you'd be obligated to question mine. So, I'll just be thankful that you have the Right to pursue a religion that makes you happy.
It's interesting how much of my generation (baby boomer) have been slow on the uptake into high tech, yet it was our generation who essentially got everyone online. I started working as a programmer in 1973, ended up a coding burnout who switched to technical writing in 1989. Explaining it was an easier way to keep learning the new stuff. Happily retired now. Hang in there, and as they say in my former profession: RTFM! (Read The F...ing Manual).
I'm resisting this freaking lockdown / quarantine at the moment. They could give everybody a blood test in a couple of weeks and put them back on their jobs. Most of the time I'm talking about resisting unconstitutional laws.
