Yer just Dreaming.Happens to most all of us.
Now,when one dreams and awakens from a Dream and they
feel as if they really hadn't awaken ... Now that's a Real Dream.
Meaning the Dream is so relevant that it can't escape yer memory.
It preoccupies yer normal functions.Almost as if you wish you hadn't
awoken. The Dream wasn't finished or needed some conclusion.
    It was open-ended.

It definitely has a market. I don't know how strong the collectibles and antiques is at this point, it's been years since I've followed it. Of course, the better the condition, the more it can be worth.

I'm wondering if it's just time to hand it all to an auctioneer and take whatever I can get for it. I haven't opened the boxes in years, and they are cluttering up my basement.

Well, they know nothing (but took 45 min to say it). We're not up to Phase 1 yet (reopening office). But it will be done in 3 phases. 'Vulnerable' staff won't return until Phase 3. One of those rare times being old & sickly might pay off! ;)

    Serious question.
What is the benefit of having people work from an office if they can produce the same results working from home? Are the results any different with employees working from home?

It is far more cost effective to let people work from home when possible.

It's actually more productive because there are fewer distractions. Since I'm in a support position, I don't have much routine work... except a report I do every Thurs. Learned an important CYA phrase from an old timer when all this started.

Monitoring communications while remaining reachable... when not working on a specific assignment.

    One size fits all. :)

This is what I dont understand.
If it is more productive to have employees when possible work from home, why not go that route? The technology is there. It probably would be more cost effective all around for the company as well as the employees. Less space for employers to rent or own. Less cost for employees to get back and forth to work. Less tax money spent on transportation issues associated with large amounts of vehicle traffic on highways, etc. I dont see the disadvantage. I also dont see the disadvantage of children being schooled at home with the assistance of computer learning. Less taxes spent of schools and transportation to and from. Less teachers needed as one teacher could probably handle more students in a virtual situation. Have the children spot checked with come in on a specific day to be tested live or whatever the solution on that end. Plus families can be families and interact on a different level instead of who is rushing out the door to go to where ever.
This pandemic opened doors to moving into the future using the technology at hand. I dont understand why the focus is rush back to the old when the new is productive as well as sustainable.

Truthfully, I'm not earning my salary. I've been know to punch in at 6:30, then go take a shower. You'd be amazed how good a paid shower feels. ;)

The best, most memorable shower I ever took was standing on a rock in the woods and using a solar bag full of water the sun warmed. After that Hardhead decided we needed a shower put in the house we were building.

In case there's any misunderstanding, I don't do much at the office either. You've heard of doing nothing with a helper? I'm the helper. ;)

It's good to be home. I've been in Louisiana all week. They are still shut down.

I'm always glad to get back home even when they're open! ;) My dad's family lives around Shreveport/Ruston. GG grandpa had a plantation in Corinth. Still a church and family cemetery there.. and a community center where they hold yearly cousins reunions. I've been a few times... I'm the token Texan -- without webbed feet. Lol

I've been in downtown Shreveport on Milam street all week. It looks like either a ghost town or the zombie apocalypse. Nothing but homeless people with masks wandering around and the occasional utility worker. I've been working in a dark, empty, 100 year old building all week. People are loitering around convenience stores with filthy masks. The whole trip was kind of depressing. I love Texas.

    I've worked in Ruston also.
