egg sandwich with cucumbers on it. Real garden home grown garden tomatoes on toast with lots of mayo. Most store bought tomatoes suck.
BLT (bacon, lettuce, and tomato (real tomato), triple decker with mayo. Self cut thick cut slab bacon.
medium ribeye, thinly sliced, on toasted italian bread with chunky blue cheese dressing & spiracha sauce
Lots of votes for a Reuben. I hate rye bread, I'm not a huge sauerkraut fan, I never use Thousand Island dressing and I never order pastrami on its' own. Put them all together, though? Yum.... I have no idea why. My favorite of my favorite sandwiches is leftover home cooked turkey on toast, with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion and bacon. I have 17 other favorites. As sandwich is my favorite way to consume food.
Great post. Rye, sauerkraut, Thousand Island all have a tanginess that really stimulates the taste buds. No surprise that a Reuben's should be a favorite type of sandwich. Now the question is, did you good people ever go to Reuben's and have one of his authentic sandwiches? I sure did! It was awesome.
this is called a super sammich. my brothers and dad all eat these. white bread, peanut butter, mustard, bologna, sweet gherkin. shockingly good.
amen on the Reuben, it's my fallback sammich when out. Chicago beef is my favorite which basically means i settle for a philly. ps, i hate that gooey yellow cheese on philly, yuk.
i always order cheddar on sammiches that have cheese, even bfast: ham, egg & cheddar on hardroll... omellette, yep with cheddar. that processed yellow american is nasty.
Tuna sub on toasted wheat with bell pepper, onion, black olives, cucumber, banana peppers, jalapeno peppers, lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, mayo & mustard.
TORTA! https://www.yelp.com/biz/la-superior-bakery-and-grocery-store-columbia The Mexican torta is my favorite sandwich. From an authentic Mexican-Central american restaurant the torta is a meat sandwich on French bread. Usually dressed with crema(sour cream) sometimes refried beans with lettuce tomato and jalapeno pickles. The bread is key and a place here in Columbia Tn also is a bakery that makes their own great French bread bolillos for this. You meat choices are various. They have a Cubano with ham and cheese. All the taco meats like Pastor, Carne asada, carnitas, chorizo and chicken are available. Some places have milanesa available. It is chicken or steak pounded think, seasoned and breaded. That makes a great sandwich! This place will put the sandwich on the grill and crisp up the bread. Some place will use a sandwich press. This is my fave sandwich!
Top 10 1. Torta 2. Reuben 3. Chicago style Italian beef(Hot relish and beef broth) 4. Gyros 5. Lebanon bologna with colby cheese 6. Tuna melt 7. Bacon blue cheese burger 8. Chicago style hot dog 9. Chili dog 10. Ham salad on rye It's all about the bread. A waste to have expensive meats and cheeses like Boar's head with mediocre bread. It's all about the bread.
Your re-fried beans reminded me of one of my favorite sandwiches. Grilled cheese but with added refried beans (or any taco meat) and any good salsa. We use a corn salsa sometimes that’s really good in them.
