https://www.huffpost.com/entry/fire...ick-pompeo-errands_n_5ec1f818c5b603f620724655 Republicans ARE the swamp GOP Senate Intel Chairman has just stepped down because of HIS corruption and Kelly Laafleur needs to resign from Congress as well
Pompeo Needs to Resign Nonsense. That would take all the fun out of it. On with the next investigation!
Both parties are the swamp. The swamp is people who put self in front of country while taking a federal paycheck. It isn't a partisan phenomenon.
An arms sale to Saudi Arabic evidently is why Congress has requested an investigation into this firing.
So it turns out Pompeo was being investigated by the State Department IG about arms sales to Saudi Arabia,,,and Pompeo had him fired
Funny, Pelosi and schiff need to resign from the house for lying to the American people And Maxine waters needs to resign for insighting violence.
I have a slightly different take on what happened with Burr. Let's begin with this being as lawless an admin as there ever has been. I mean, look what Pompeo has done. Look at how much it took for the Bigot-in-Chief to force out cabinet members like Pruitt and Price. So what's the big deal to Individual 1 over some insider trading? Ask yourself, why go after Burr so aggressively? Ostensibly he's on Trump's team since he's a Repub, right? But here's the thing. Burr's committee has done investigations in to Russia's sordid interference in our election and come out if full support of the intel community's findings. Senate Intel report confirms Russia aimed to help Trump in 2016 https://www.politico.com/news/2020/...rms-russia-aimed-to-help-trump-in-2016-198171 They were due to issue another report on connections between the Trump campaign and Russians. They even took a look at the fever swamp accusations concerning Ukraine. Senate panel look into Ukraine interference comes up short https://www.politico.com/news/2019/12/02/senate-panel-ukraine-election-interference-074796 Now does it make sense that the Obstructionist-in-Chief would want to sideline Burr? Cuz..........it isn't like this would be the first time Trump has used his authority to go after a perceived enemy. Or someone who just isn't playing ball. Know what I mean?
Good luck with that. https://www.state.gov/foreign-military-sales-process-and-policy/ Pursuant to section 2 of the AECA, “under the direction of the President, the Secretary of State (taking into account other United States activities abroad, such as military assistance, economic assistance, and food for peace program) shall be responsible for the continuous supervision and general direction of sales, leases, financing, cooperative projects, and exports under this Act, including, but not limited to, determining – (1) whether there will be a sale to or financing for a country and the amount thereof; (2) whether there will be a lease to a country; (3) whether there will be a cooperative project and the scope thereof; and (4) whether there will be delivery or other performance under the sale, lease, cooperative project, or export, to the end that sales, financing, leases, cooperative projects, and exports will be integrated with other United States activities and to the end that the foreign policy of the United States would be best served thereby.”
I agree - there are swamp creatures on both sides of the aisle. Unfortunately, however, Trump made it one of his rally cries that he would 'drain the swamp'. Apparently, he thought that meant getting politicians out of Washington and replacing them with political donors and friends. Now we have a second swamp.
Do you remember that Big Fat Don subverted traditionally required congressional approval for arms sales of this nature by declaring an emergency? "Anger has been mounting in Congress over the Trump administration’s close ties to the Saudis, fueled by the high civilian casualties in the Saudi-led war in Yemen — a military campaign the U.S. is assisting — and the killing of U.S.-based columnist Jamal Khashoggi by Saudi agents. Trump’s decision in May to sell the weapons further inflamed the tensions. “The president’s shameful veto tramples over the will of the bipartisan, bicameral Congress and perpetuates his administration’s involvement in the horrific conflict in Yemen, which is a stain on the conscience of the world,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement." https://apnews.com/d3d146d8d7ae40749b16183e5fa87746
Pompeo Ordered State Dept. Officials To Invent Reason For His Emergency Declaration In Saudi Arms Sale https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/...-his-emergency-declaration-in-saudi-arms-sale
There is no mandated restriction on selling arms equipment to Saudi Arabia. It is listed on the open ledger. There was a restriction for Obama to sell pipeline equipment, by way of Koch-Glitsch Italia, to Putin for his pipeline going into the Crimea, with the kickback being laundered through Burisma's Cyprus accounts. Meanwhile, the SD IG was actually fired for both withholding and hiding information from Durham.
Not to worry, if he keeps stealing more of the news because o0f his ineptitude, stealing Dirty Donalds news coverage, pretty soon Dirty Don will be firing him. No one is allowed to steal Dirty Don's thunder!!!
