Donald Trump has so screwed the pooch on every front that he considers the economy the ONLY path he has to winning reelection. So he has applied political pressure to reopen DESPITE the good scientific evidence that doing so without adequate testing and tracing could be catastrophic. We know that there will be increases and in infections and some genuine hot spots created as a result of reopening without proper testing and tracing. It is to be expected. But this fall, when the schools reopen and the kids who've been kept apart for 5-6 months are suddenly forced back into classrooms with dozens of classmates, when they're eating lunch with hundreds of classmates, sharing lab equipment, pe facilities, and, God forbid, BATHROOMS it will be a disaster. The kids will spread the virus among themselves and then bring it home to share with their siblings, parents, grandparents, and beyond and the infection and death rates will spike geometrically. Then every illness and death will be blamed on Trump. When the total death count explodes from the expected 150k or so by mid-August to 300k-400k or more in the 2.5 months between schools reopening and election day the vast majority of those deaths will rightly be laid at the foot of Donald Trump and his applying that particular political calculus. We all want to reopen but doing so as political calculus as opposed to the simple math of science will cost those who decide that currying favor with Trump IS the way out.
The country was on the right path until the left wing government in Beijing committed an act of war against us with a biological weapon.
Did you miss Fredo's brother declaring it is the European virus? All Trump has to do is point his finger at all the states that have governors that have already destroyed the restaurant and hospitality business which affects the farmers as well as the cities. Look at MN governor Waltz (a democrat state that could easily turn) who promised the restaurants that they would be able to open with 50% capacity and then in his latest loosening of the rope he put around their neck, abruptly turned that into, you can serve outside only everyone at least six feet apart.
Interesting you say that because I listen to a podcast called garage logic that comes out of MN and it was really just basic guy thoughts turned into humor. Their politics were seldom expressed but if anything they living in a house divided into two different camps so they kept everything in the middle. When the Chinese virus was foist upon us from our friends in the far East, they hunkered down and were in 100% agreement with the hunkering down, social distancing, making fun of Trump's daily attempts to keep the general population calm and they were in full agreement with MN Governor Waltz's plan to lockdown everything in MN. About two weeks ago I could sense a change in their thinking and every day since they have become more vocal in their belief that their once loved Governor is on the wrong path. Their 180° turnaround was aided by all the interviews they had with economists, business owners, and people in the health industry and just plain common sense, or as they put it, garage logic.
Democrats don't want it reopened til November they don't care about people's lives, all they care about is trashing Trump before the election. That's how low their character is and they prove it here in this form every day. Utterly worthless.. Democrats are killing people by keeping things closed..
Could be catastrophic? Leaving the economy closed is guaranteed to be a catastrophe. 100%. We handled all the other outbreaks without the shutdown. I guess they didn't happen in election years.
Keeping the country is a stupid thing to do and the only reason to keep it closed is to make Trump bad in order to influence the election..
Trump needs no help in that regard. He's managed to screw this pooch so badly that, at this point, there is nothing LEGAL he can do to recover.
Trump ain't screwed the pooch about nothing except how he runs his mouth. What do you think he has done badly, specifically? Again besides running off at the mouth..
If you've not been paying attention the last 4 months it is not my role to educate you. If you're of the opinion that Trump has anything resembling a "good job" over the last 4 months then you are deluding yourself. Unfortunately, with the delusional, there is nothing that can be said to alter their perceptions. They must find the way on their own.
How badly do you reckon the lockdowns are going to set back your professional success? How badly do you think you personally will suffer financially and professionally?
Why? Why not ask that of Trump? Attacking me personally does not change the absolute fact that Trump made the decision that your death is an acceptable loss if he gets reelected. You should take that up with him.
Evasion noted. I suspect that you won't be negatively effected by the lockdowns, because you're not as successful as you claim to be. It's easy for broke people who want free money from the government to argue in favor of lockdowns, but for financially-successful people, not so much.
So then you're on board with whatever casualties are necessary to get Trump reelected. As if there was any doubt. Still, whatever your willingness to see others die to support your "fearless leader," whatever suffering he's willing to impose upon the American people to protect his own office, of course with your undying support, I do not want you to die. I do not want you to get sick. I wish the same for all of the Trumpinistas.
Yet you are unwilling to provide a single specific example of what he did wrong.. Thus making all your posts in this thread meaningless. Ohh he should have lead better, what a crock of manure. Tell us exactly what he should have done, based on the information he had at the time, most of which was lies from China. Or admit your full of it.
So far 2 hairdressers in Missouri are known to have given the virus to at least 150 customers, because they did not follow the rules of civility to their fellow human beings. The Arkansas high school swim party has resulted in a cluster spike of Covid-19 in Arkansas, because they did not follow the rules of civility to their fellow human beings. Enacting rules to try to protect the lives and safety of our fellow citizens is or should be the prime goal of all our elected officials.
