    The move comes after years in which Twitter has declined to apply its community guidelines and other rules of the road to the 45th U.S. president

    It is no secret that the Worst President Ever Donnie is a serial liar who continues to have a reckless disregard for reality. It is bad enough that he willfully attempts to mislead the American people are numerous issues, but some of his nonsense can be dangerous to the health and safety of his fellow Americans. World's Laughingstock Donnie continues down the road to MAKE AMERICA A THIRD-WORLD COUNTRY AGAIN. His predictable response will be that once again that he is a victim of some made-up conspiracy, rather than his inability to deal with reality. Reality is the enemy of the Narcissistic Sociopath Donnie.

    An interesting compromise. If he's going to spread lies about people that would get anyone else's posts removed, but Twitter won't remove them in his case because he's a political figure, then flagging them in some way makes sense.

    He's told a lot of lies. Right now he's trying to leverage wingnut conspiracy theories to take advantage of a young woman's death in order to slander a political opponent in the media while the woman's widower begs (unsuccessfully) for the knuckle-dragging conman to have some ounce of self respect.

    Meanwhile, no one tried to "steal" the election, nor does such vapid whataboutism excuse the serial conman's latest con.

    When trump leaves Twitter, it will die and some other site will take its place.

    Democrats will kill a business to push their politics. Google, YouTube, and many others are doing the same stuff but they are creating room for competition to emerge. Bad idea for tech companies to hire Democrats.

    What conservative companies have replaced Google . . . or are remotely close to doing so? I'd ask about YouTube, but Google also owns YouTube, so that's redundant. Fringe righties will try to kill businesses to push their politics and fail.

    Good idea for tech companies to respect their own terms of service, even if they have to partially accommodate political figures like Trump who constantly violate them.

    But since presumably you're just an inconsequential random internet guy on a private forum, instead of the President of the United States, you'll get away with it. Unless someone reports your post for violating the forum rules about respectful debate and no flamebaiting....

    I just mentioned one in the post you quoted. Twitter has been treating him with kid gloves due to him being a political figure, but most of us would have been kicked off the platform for half of his nonsense.

    Trump, throughout his lifetime, has shown a complete inability to comprehend the 1st Amendment and has repeatedly attacked it. As President, he's proven he still doesn't have even rudimentary literacy on the subject. Would it kill him to learn the basics of the Constitution? Free speech is hardly his only blind spot, but it may be his biggest one.
