There is no doubt the CDC is under tremendous political pressure

There are already threads extolling the fact that “COVID 19 “ONLY HAS A .2% FATALITY RATE”

But epidemiologists are not confining their observations to America but doing comparisons with global data and while there is little doubt that the mortality rate is directly proportional to the strain on the healthcare system within the affected area, the overall rate appears to be around 1-2%

Trump has strong-armed someone at the NOAA to alter a hurricane forecast for him after the fact, so that Trump wasn't "wrong". I wouldn't be surprised if the CDC is strong-armed into providing alternative facts on covid, to push the Trump re-opening agenda. Where is the deep state when we need it?

nobody is even close to approximating the death rate due to Covid because we have no clue as to the number of people who were infected, got over it without medical assistance and those who were asymptomatic

Only those who are invested in cratering the economy and controlling people will insist that they know the death rate.

orange man bad, we all get it. It has nothing to do with orange man. Democrat voters will need to find another horse on which to attach your horse. Continued lockdowns hurts most everyone and the politicizing must stop. The numbers and facts do not justify the hysteria of Branch Covidians

Actually, we do have clues as to the number of people infected there antibody tests and the number of asymptomatic people due to a study of some cruise ship passengers.

Those studies strongly support an IFR of 0.26%

a much broader swath of antibody testing is needed. I doubt this will occur because a few things will be revealed

more people came in contact with corona and were unaffected
    we're moving toward herd immunity

neither of the above help the maskers and lock downers

What does "overall rate" mean. Do you have a definition?

Hey, I'd be all for more antibody testing. I said so weeks ago, even created a thread about it, but then, Trump fans said testing is unimportant. Why? because the US was woefully behind testing compared to other countries.

A relative in Germany got an antibody test 4 weeks ago. At that time, you could't even get the RT-PCR test here without falling into the high risk group. So, yes, bring on testing and more testing, I am all for it. I doubt that your side of the aisle is on board, however.

BTW: Herd immunity requires something like 70-80% of the population being immune. We are FAR from those numbers. Nationwide, the level of immunity is probably in the 1-5% range, and that's already being generous.

The Covid hysteria is dying down and the left is desperate to stoke a fire under it. They need panic and hysteria.

And that’s because of the continued lack of testing

which suitsTrump’s political agenda just fine

Tier 1 - The uber wealthy, banks, corporate officers/shareholders, high end investment professionals.
Tier 2 - The ruling class, the President and Congress.
Tier 3 - Bureaucrats, government run or government funded organizations such as CDC & WHO
Tier 4 - Influencers, the media and noteworthy fanatics.
Tier 5 - The rest of us.

If you follow that list down from the top you can imagine all the ways in which Tier 1 can use its power and influence to herd Tier 5, us, into doing the only thing that Tier 1 people have ever cared about: getting us back to producing and consuming. Of course the data could be wrong. All of the mechanisms capable of manipulating it, Tiers 2/3/4, serve the Tier 1 people in one way or another, directly or indirectly.

What part of “published research” are you not getting?
We do not know to the tenth decimal place but the research is mounting day on day and it is NOT consistent with what the CDC is currently forecasting in the models

As I said the hysteria is dying down. People are amazingly adaptable and we are adapting to the pandemic

Do you hold this same attitude about traffic fatalities? Do you not take your kids anywhere in a car because of the real risk of an accident?

Our health infrastructure is going broke because of empty hospitals

    Really?

Oh! You mean all those rural hospitals that closed long before COVID? The ones that will not be able to treat the rural cases?

They didn’t close they just stopped elective procedures so they would have room for all the Covid cases that never materialized. They are back in business now

    Yes

Which is why I am against loosening gun laws, relaxing driving restrictions and workplace health and safety protections

Now before you go trying to claim more people die from flu than COVID please click on this link

    Really?

Can you link me to those hospitals “going broke”? And why did they not open to patients in the states being overwhelmed?

The left at it again...anything that goes against their doom and gloom narrative is a Trump conspiracy!

Normal Human nature Is to react with happiness finding out the death rate is lower that predicted.

Lefty nature is to react with anger, frustration and accusations that it’s not true.

The warped ideology of the left is on full display these days. And it is ugly.
