The real political spectrum stretches from the Utopian zero government theoretical model on the anarchist/libertarian/Communist extreme on one end, through the limited checked and balanced 'small government' theories of the American, French and Marxist/Communist Revolutionaries on to every Big Government system to end finally with the totalitarian structures that quickly evolved out of French Revolutionary and Communist Revolutionary theory. National Socialism and Fascism are virtually the same as all other totalitarian systems of government, but unlike the French and Communist revolutionaries, Fascists and Nazis never even considered limited checked and balanced government. They never had a "All Power to the Soviets" moment. The American Revolutionary government alone seriously attempted to maintain a constitutionally limited checked and balanced government.
Interesting topic. I have friends on both sides of the spectrum, and I love them all. It can be difficult navigating waters at times. I have a few rules that Iive by with social media. I don't post anything political, ever. If my friends do it a lot, then I unfollow them. Not unfriend them, I just unfollow. During conversations with my friends, I quickly ascertain their position, and then determine how much I am willing to say/share. As I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal, I tend to agree or disagree with either side of the spectrum, depending on the issue. If a conversation starts going where I would not want, I just change the topic. I'd rather debate with folks I don't know, than folks I do. I have found that on this board, I tend to take the position that would be considered conservative, but that is mainly because the issues being hotly debated now, are ones where I would fall onto that side of the spectrum.
Antifa is antifacist Trump is profascist AntiCovid proflatearth agw pro antivaxx proTrump = antiscience and antiAmerican
Ah, says Le Chef looking in the mirror. So many Trump supporters hate American values and civil liberties, yes.
There is a reason for the common wisdom that it's best to avoid topics of religion, money, and politics in casual conversation. These are interesting topics to have with strangers, not with people you are trying to have a fun time with a be friends. Topics that actually have meaning are often high-stress, and ironically are best avoided most of the time if you are trying to make friends. Also, some people make the mistake of assuming internet forum style communication translates over into real-life conversation. It does not, all sorts of complications with that can arise. Interestingly, I don't seem to like being around the people I agree with politically in real-life. The people I actually enjoy being around do not seem to have really strong political opinions. Food for thought.
Except for all those times she was wrong. Again, I provided 3 sources. They pretty much said the same thing. But I get it, without the BS, you've got nothing.
LOL! Am I supposed to have said Birx was always right? I only pointed out that Birx was clearly right about the CDC. The abject failure of the CDC is not a secret. "The cross contamination most likely occurred because chemical mixtures were assembled into the kits within a lab space that was also handling synthetic coronavirus material. The scientists also said the proximity deviated from accepted procedures and jeopardized testing for the virus. The Washington Post separately confirmed that Food and Drug Administration officials concluded that the CDC violated its own laboratory standards in making the kits. The substandard practices exposed the kits to contamination." THE WASHINGTON POST, Contamination at CDC lab delayed rollout of coronavirus tests, BY DAVID WILLMAN, April 20, 2020. https://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/10909338-181/contamination-at-cdc-lab-delayed
I wasn't arguing the point that they screwed up the test kit. You are using it as an absurd excuse to reject the CDC. And ignore the other estimates. But your real goal is to distract from Trump's many failures. That's not going to be easy.
All of the Government agencies,, National and international, failed to act and inform for months.. yeah.. it's a failure.. or a plot.
attacking the CDS does not make Trump many and terrible failures go away and, no, ToddWB, the only plot is to protect Trump
The CDC has been exposed as an especially incompetent band nitwit bureaucrats. "The same week the CDC sent out the email about the job openings, the agency sent Nevada officials alerts about 80 potential coronavirus patients to monitor, documents show. Four were not Nevada residents. A state epidemiologist, in each instance, corrected the agency, informing the CDC that the person was from New York, not Nevada. (The CDC then redirected each report to New York, the documents show.) The confusion sometimes went both ways. On March 4, a program manager in the Nevada Health Department reached out to the CDC to ask about congressional funding for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. “There seems to be a communications blackout on this end,” the program manager wrote, wondering if funds would be distributed based on the number of cases in each state or by population. “Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to your questions,” responded a CDC staffer, apologizing for the lack of information. “We are hearing all of the rumor mills as well.” “Thank you,” the Nevada program manager replied. “It’s good to be confused together.” PROPUBLICA, "SERIES: CORONAVIRUS, Internal Emails Show How Chaos at the CDC Slowed the Early Response to Coronavirus, The CDC fumbled its communication with public health officials and underestimated the threat of the coronavirus even as it gained a foothold in the United States, according to hundreds of pages of documents ProPublica obtained., By Caroline Chen, Marshall Allen and Lexi Churchill March 26, 2020. https://www.propublica.org/article/...-cdc-slowed-the-early-response-to-coronavirus
All of which excuses Trump not at all. The NSC pandemic team was gone. There was no group in the White House focused on this. Even worse, when it came up, Trump wanted nothing to do with it. "Redfield stepped to the podium. “The risk at this time is low,” Redfield told the country. “The American public needs to go on with their normal lives.” This reassurance came at precisely, and tragically, the wrong time. With a different answer, much of the human devastation that was about to unfold in the United States would have been avoidable. Academic research from Imperial College in London, modeling the U.S. response, estimates that up to 90 percent of COVID-19 deaths could have been prevented had the U.S. moved to shut down by March 2nd. Instead, administration leaders dragged their feet for another two weeks, as the virus continued a silent, exponential assault. By early May, more than 75,000 Americans were dead." When the administration did start to act, they didn't follow protocol. Where they didn't screw up, they were half assed. “We had ample notice to get our country ready,” says Ron Klain, who served as President Obama’s Ebola czar, and lists the rolling out of testing, securing protective equipment, and building up hospital capacity as necessary preventative steps. “We spent all of January and February doing none of those things, and as a result, when this disease really exploded in March, we weren’t prepared.” While you use the CDC as a whipping boy, that's less than half the story. "But when the CDC’s original test kit failed, there was no Plan B. The nation’s private-sector biomedical establishment is world-class, but the administration kept these resources cordoned behind red tape as the CDC foundered." (Hahn could have brought in private firms earlier to produce tests) "With adequate testing from the beginning, says Dr. Howard Forman, a Yale professor of public-health policy, “we would have been able to stop the spread of this virus in its tracks the way that many other nations have.” "Blind to the virus’s penetration and unable to target mitigation where it was needed, the administration and state governors had to resort to the blunt instrument of shuttering the economy, says Dr. Ashish Jha, director of the Harvard Global Health Institute. And the lack of testing kept us in limbo. “Our economy is shut down because we still do not have adequate testing,” Jha says. “We have been woefully behind from the beginning of this pandemic.” If you want to find more screw ups, read the article. But the bottom line is simple, Trump didn't do the job. Even if he had wanted to, he lacks the ability. https://www.rollingstone.com/politi...d-19-test-trump-admin-failed-disaster-995930/
I didn't vote for Trump or offer financial support. I will defend his supporters' right to be called true Americans, and yours as well. We don't in this country expel people from polite society for not sharing our political views. I will likely write in Rand Paul or Dan Crenshaw.
This is all simply a form of Maoist Chinese propaganda. Which technically and historically is very effective at brainwashing a People. Therefore Mao's Peoples Army. That's what ya got here folks. Keep in mind how Mao used imagery quite often.Scenes with Kids grasping on to his clothes as if they can't get enough hugging of him. That is what BlackLivesMatter is attempting to do.Have the entire populace just fall head over heels in love with a stupid, illogical slogan ... BlackLivesMatter. Where it's a Grand Mal Lie.I believe every one of the murders in Chicago on Sunday May 31 { 18 in 24 hrs. the most in 60 years } was a Black. The left in this country thinks We the People are such pushovers we will fall on our swords as if a Domino effect. One thing is sure about President Trump ... he's definitely No pushover. Plus he attended a Military Academy.Which meant he had to practice discipline. The only thing I see practiced with BlackLivesmatter is an ability to gather at their feeding trough. Name one doggone thing BlackLivesMatter has accomplished to make a single Black Life better.Just one.
If you're calling me a fascist, I'm going to have to complain. I'm a philosophically conservative Libertarian and would never join any political group or movement.
Le Chef, let the shoe fall where it may. Where did I call you a fascist? I was writing very clearly about RT. I may have to complain that you are goading and flaming.
Being a trump supporter is Un-American. It is about as Un-American as one can get. It is betrayal and a crime against the nation.
So I take it you support victims of Sexual Assaults, correct? Nice to see you don't support or will vote for Biden too. Glad you don't have any bias!
A much needed question that is not being asked is simple. Why all of a sudden in the last 48 hrs.are the Democrats { The Democrats had a majority in the House for 40 years [ 1954-1994 ] in such an all-fired rush to remove statues of Confederate Civil War heroes from our Capitol. They could have done that as soon as Obama entered the White House. Where the Obama's removed the Bust of Winston Churchill that was given as a gift years prior.Of course the Obamas Lied about it. Citing that it was only given to the prior President Bush on loan. That it wasn't Bush 43's to keep or leave in the Oval Office. Obama claiming something about clutter. There are just so many tables a bust can be placed before it seems cluttered. I don't Think Trump likes clutter. Not even a smidgen. This President made a point of getting that Bust back and placed where it rightly belongs.Right smack dab in the Oval Office.
