There is less than a full second between him being turned around pointing the taser and getting shot.

    Time 4:48

Wendy's employees are witnesses, but that's all.

They expressed the opinion that the guy was drunk to some degree. Thus, a sobriety test was warranted.

Nobody I've heard of has argued against giving the guy a sobriety test.

There ARE people that would argue against shooting an unarmed man in the back and leaving him on the ground to die with no assistace.

How did he get the car into the drive through and pass out without being drunk? Did a ghost place him in the seat, hehe. And he blew the .108. You think they just made that up? You joking? Guess they made up all his prior arrests, probation and jail time too:)

And unarmed? What video did you watch? Did you miss the part when he punched the cops to get free or when he fired the taser:). You think if he accidentally drops it a second after firing, he’s still unarmed? Drunk. Resisting arrest. Assault with fists AND A WEAPON. THEFT. And fleeing the scene. Guess if he forced his way into someone’s car while fleeing(happens all the time) that would be ok too.

    Man this is amusing.

So laff. How do you know he was pissed before he arrived at the drive-through? (And.) He looked pretty damned sober to me when he did those sobriety tests.

He was drunk & he failed the breathalyzer
You or I would have been arrested, so why should a child abuser be given a break?

He didn't even turn around - he shot the taser wildly over his shoulder.

Then, he threw away the taser.

THEN, the police took more steps, leveled off and murdered him.

At NOT TIME in that series were the lives of the police in ANY danger.

There will be no trial for Murder. The DA's own words he spoke 2 weeks ago destroyed that charge. The Law in Georgia that clearly says a taser is a deadly weapon has given the Cops a clear reason to justifiably take him down with deadly force.

George Floyd was murdered. There is no denying it and those Cops need to do time for their crimes.

Brooks was justifiably taken down by the Cop. There will be no murder charges brought as the coming days conclude because the law is on the Cop's side.

Tennessee V Garner alows PD to shoot if they believe the subject is a dangrou to the cops or the public. The fact they he resist arrest and threw punshes would give grounds to being able to kill the guy

    He explained that.

He said he had left his car their earlier in the night to go out with his sister (or whomever it was).

When he came back Wendy's was closed, so he parked in the drive-thru and went to sleep, waiting for it to open.

He tossed the taser and then the police shot him twice in the back letting him lie there while giving no assistance.

They wanted him dead. THAT is what they wanted.

The result of the neoliberal system that pits us all in a competition with one-another, rather than facilitating participation based on individual ability.

The goal is enabling everyone to contribute according to his ability, where the minimum reward is achieved through above poverty participation by all. Without recourse to taxation...thus eliminating class conflict.

Yes, such is the outcome in a 'dog eat dog' economic system .

It will if everyone is employed - and participating in the life of the community at above poverty level.

No doubt all true, but an even more necessary fundamental change is the overturning of the current neoliberal economic orthodoxy which tolerates/imposes ANY unemployment (according to the NAIRU concept):

    Sovereign currency-issuing governments
can issue debt-free money, so long as the resources on which the government wants to spend that money are available for purchase.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/mmt-overcoming-the-political-divide.569365/

which means government can fund a Job Guarantee, without taxing or borrowing from the private sector.

    He wasn't a "child abuser".

He was a guy who had parked in a Wendy's drive through, and when awakened and asked to move, he moved his car to an adjacent parkig space.

    Who asked him to move?

You gave no support to your argument nor did you come up with any defect in my couner argument.

More equal income is not going to solve racism.

Like I pointed out in the prison case, just simply providing the means for people to get ahead by hard work can even cause DEEPER HATRED!

The affect of our racist society is that a disproportionate number of those in povery are also minorities.

But, that does NOT mean that racism can be resolved by giving all or any subset of those in poverty more opportunity to work their way out.

Look what happened in education. We tried to create a more differentiated college student body (which turns out to be important for sound reasons of education on ALL topics by the way). And, that increased the hate and disrespect for minorities who were in college.

I'm fine with fighting the wealth gap that continues to grow - due to policy patterns that we as a nation continue to promote.

But don't kid yourself that you're fighting racism.

He didn't have a taser. He was shot when it was clear to all that he was totally unarmed.

Whatever you want to say about the taser (and you really have little to say about that) doesn't change the fact that it was a murder.

Yes, in significant parts of America we're fine with shooting black guys in the back, blowing up black kids in church, dragging them behind trucks until dead, denying them equal education opportunity, etc., etc., etc.

We have a LONG LONG history of police and others being allowed to murder black folks and not even getting charged.

With any luck, progress against that serious problem can be made. It's certainly the case that enough people are dying for that.

Every video of this event shows the events I stated.

I didn't check out how long that took. I've watched that snuff film too many times already.

But, it sure does seem difficult for it all to happen in the time claimed by that poster.

There really are two general classes of issue here.

The first is whethher current law justifies this homicide. If it does, then the law is no more than an encouragemnt to kill. So, if someone runs they may be murdered. This guy was run through the mill in this police encouner. Even if he weren't black, surely he would realize that the police simply wanted to take him for a ride. There was NO other logic involved.

The second is how to go about making the major changes that are required so we can start having reasonable policing in our communities.

Policing REQUIRES the cooperation and trust of the public. In this case, the victim clearly had ZERO trust in these officers. And, that lack of trust was CLEARLY prove out when that officer murdered him.

Rayshard Brooks is a felon wife and child beater who was turned in by his own family

    https://www.yc.news/2020/06/15/rays...-cruelty-to-children-family-battery-beatings/

He was doing a 7 year sentence when some liberal judge decided to release him so he would not catch covid-19.

The good news is..... taxpayer won’t have to pickup the tab for this loser anymore.

Rayshard Brooks black life does not matter.
Child abusers are better off dead.

he was entitled to a welfare check, entitled to being publicly intoxicated, entitled to resisting arrest, and entitled to pointing a weapon at police.

classic entitlement mentality from the democrat plantation.

I actually agree with LoneStarGal (whom I'm sure you have debated) that racism is more to do with what she calls "poorism". We are all 'racist'(tribal) even if unconsciously - that's part of the darker side of human nature.

Now, I go a step further and say: eliminate unemployment entirely, ie, guarantee everyone above- poverty employment.

Note: "more equal income" is NOT the same as universal above poverty employment. The latter is vital to engender a sense of self worth.

Hence the need to change the current neoliberal orthodoxy.

As Stephanie Kelton has noted, Dems always want to raise taxes to provide "more equal income", but they are always foiled by the opposition of Repubs who want to reduce taxes (especially on the rich)....since NO-ONE likes paying more taxes.

And all the while BOTH want to achieve a balanced budget....though history shows the Repubs are more likely to ditch balanced budget concerns, to "get the economy moving"....

No future in that silly game...

This just proves you do not even have a CLUE about how our system works.

NOTHING these police did to Brooks has ANYTHING to do with whatever transgressions may or may not exist.

THAT is the LAW. You don't get to shoot him because of some past transgression.

If there were outstanding warrants, then the police may arrest on those outstanding warrants.

If the police murdered him due to past crimes, then the police are guilty of murder. Period.

The problem isn't that I didn't follow your argument. The problems is that the argument is BS.

We aren't facing a debate about whether poor lives matter. We're facing a civil rights crisis on whether BLACK lives matter. And, I pointed out cases where improvements in standing generalted greater hate - NOT lesser hate.

As with white supremacist attitudes toward immigrants, there is a view that white folks are losing out to them - that they are coming for your stuff. They want your house, your job, your neighborhood, your daughter, your elected office, etc. Giving more opportunity to minorities is eactly what they are FIGHTING.

And, you got the tax thing DEAD wrong. The progressive objection has concerned tax breaks FOR THE WEALTHY that are the constant right wing solution to every situation. We've been a VERY successful nation in the past during periods where there were far higher taxes on the wealthy. Today, Republicans keep trying to shift the load so the millionaires and billionairs can pay less while those at the bottom see no improvement of ANY kind - wages, healthcare, voting rights, civil rights - you name it.

You didn’t even have a clue he was a felon child and wife beater, so don’t go acting like your well informed.

A taser is considered deadly force in Georgia law.

Brooks hit one cop with the taser and missed the shot at the other cop just before he got shot.

The DA is in a runoff campaign & charged the cops foolishly. The law is behind the cops and even a black sheriff admits it.

This story is on CNN which will never be confused as a right wing site.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cn...rd-brooks-atlanta-shooting-tuesday/index.html

The cop will probably get his job back with back pay when this is over.
