Cuomo doesn't have a CDC or a Federal Health Department or Intelligence Agencies. Unfortunately, all he has is Trump.

 

Cuomo said it was not a problem. He had complete authority over New York.

 

He has access to them. They were giving periodic briefings. They were behind the curve also.

Had they been properly isolated they would have been as safe in the nursing home as in the hospital.

How would you do that in a nursing home? You have a large number of older people crowded together, usually two to a room and you are magically going to keep them separated. They are simply not equipped for isolation.

 

Cuomo wouldn't know that. You know who would? The CDC... the Health Department.

This is why we pay our taxes so the federal government has those. To do things like advice governors in things like this. But instead we have an idiot in the Presidency telling them that they had the virus "under control".

It simply would not work in the nursing homes I have seen. They are generally already nearly full and you would end up putting them in a few rooms mixed in with all the others. The ones I have seen do not have an empty wing to use.

 

So the only way for states to get info was from Trump's ridiculous 'positive spin' press conferences? Surely you can't be serious! Also, at the time that Trump was talking nonsense, it was evident from the data that he was talking nonsense! And you think that Cuomo was instead choosing to believe Trump over the data?

I am serious. And don't call me Sherley. There were no "press conferences" when NY got hit. in fact, press conferences started because New York got hit. That's when Trump stopped lying (not really... only reduced by one the number of lies) and started taking the virus..... sorta seriously. And only because his stock started to crash.

He failed my IQ test by calling for the RNC convention to be moved to Florida when the numbers are one of the worst.... not only in the country.... in the world!

I'd say that doesn't break the 90 mark. And if you add that he refuses to decisively and unequivocally call for the population to wear masks, that gets him under 70. Actually carrying out the RNC convention would put him under 50, which downgrades him to "imbecile".

As a New Yorker and not a big Cuomo fan but we followed the guidelines and rules and flattened the curve to the point of now having the least amount of new cases in the USA.

Zero evidence that this was his motivation. If what you're saying is true, that he didn't take it seriously, then why the hell did he ban travel from China all the way back in January? Perhaps you're making the critical mistake of ALL liberals - listening to what he SAYS, not what he DOES.

The data which made it clear that there wasn't only the ridiculously few number of cases that he was spruiking. The science which made it clear that it doesn't in fact just "miraculously disappear."
