Editing my comment and then putting words in my mouth? Dick move. The 2A is my political priority. Just because I view it as of primary importance doesn't mean 'nothing else matters.' Though it does make me a 'bitter clinger' according to Obama... My guns have been precisely as useful to me in this pandemic as my seatbelts, my fire extinguishers, my homeowners insurance and all the other things that I'm thankful that I havn't needed yet but are still considered wise to have.
When someone tells me that the Second Amendment is his political priority in times of national protest, economic crisis and pandemic, it isn't so surprising that demagogues like Donald Trump manage to get elected. And I don't expect you to understand why Biden will be elected next November. Do you practice shooting viruses?
Are we talking about the same Barack Obama that believes wholeheartedly in global warming but spent millions on a house on the water? The same Obama that said "at some point you've made enough money" but is now worth 40 million?
I think he was a political animal that did as others expected of him. An empty suit with no real political center of his own. He took over an economy that had been badly harmed by big government policies that made banks reckless in their lending practices. Over time, things inched their way back up. Globally, he was with the pro-forever wars establishment. He wanted identity politics front and center on judiciary appointments. He gave us a right wing medical coverage system based upon Republican Mitt Romney's ideas. Overall, meh. This does not include current charges that he oversaw an increasingly weaponized deep state. History may yet judge him, Biden and Susan Rice on this.
Let me make this clear to you; I hate Trump, NOT because he beated Hillary, NOT because he proclaims he wants to make America great again...I hate Trump because he is a conman, a liar, a self-absorbed psychotic narcissist, and simply because he IS THE WORST example of not only an American, but as a human being! Capiche?
Obama. Hmm... in their own way, Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, Frankie Roosevelt, and Lyndon Johnson were much worse. You see, Barack Obama was a handpicked, racially-correct, politically-correct stooge for the radical Socialist Left wing of the Democrat Party and the internationalist central banks -- the most infamous and powerful of which is the Federal Reserve System, here in the States. It wasn't even so much that Obama was a 'bad' president, per se, no... he wasn't the 'president' at all -- just a hand-puppet, artfully used by the brain-trust of America-hating Democrats who were determined to destroy the foundation of this country, and all that we had achieved as a powerful nation of independent, self-reliant citizens. I have read that in his 'poster-boy' role as a kind-of "president", Obama was little more than Ben Bernanke's 'house-ni**er', and in retrospect, that's just about all he really was.... The best political cartoon of the 21st-century so far --
Barack Obama is one of the best Presidents this country has ever had. Why did you create a thread about him? Is it because Trump is doing so poorly right now?
Good but with flaws. He was a charming person and I think he probably did a lot for us internationally but he was terribly weak, particularly on domestic policy. No Drama Obama was really just what we did NOT need in 2008 Practically any other Dem would have had a single payer healthcare plan passed in his first term and its benefits solidly ensconced by 2016. Obama barely managed to have the Pubs pass their OWN plan (under his name) by the time he left. OTOH he did have the little problem of averting the 2nd Great Depression, which the Republicans had handed to him, along with possibly the most recalcitrant racist Republican Congress we have had until the present one, there is that. None of these would have been any real problem if the will of the American people had not been so horribly thwarted in 2016 by the remnants of Old World tyranny the Founding Father themselves wrote into our Constitution. None but a small minority of True Believers actually wanted Trump to be President. Hopefully even they have recognized the egregious error of their ways and Biden can begin getting our country back on track come November.
If you truly see your ability to defend your life with firearms as of equal importance to even the dubious benefits of fire extinguishers I must respectively suggest you move. You are only one man, the forces you see arrayed against you are many and they are armed too. While I wish you nothing but well and have confidence in your capabilities it is only the recognition of reality to realize they will get you eventually. We are not meant to live in war zones. (And I don't really think you are anyway. Again with respect, I feel you should forego your next firearm purchase and consult a reputable psychiatrist if you really feel as you describe above. That is a presumption I apologize for but it is motivated by sincere concern)
Its not just me. I'm just part of a very large picture of many gun owners who prevent our towns from becoming warzones by being prepared to quickly win said 'war'. I'd wager 3/4 of the households where I live have a firearm and half of them have multiple. In the ten years I've lived here, we've had one shooting, and it was an illegal immigrant (with known mental health issues and a history of violencd) who road raged on a family on the freeway, followed them here and then started shooting at cops. He and a rookie cop were both dead in just a few seconds. But if the cops hadn't been around, I guarantee he still wouldn't have made it out alive once he started firing. Most folks of that sort of demeanor understand where they can prey on folks and where they can't which is why we get so little violence. If that equates to us all being crazy, then crazy I happily am.
Obam was sandwiched between the two of the biggest scumbags of the 20th century. Considering that, he did pretty well.
What you describe is textbook paranoia. The only thing you can guarantee with that situation is that the cops were dead. Crazed gunmen don't suddenly acquire ESP as to who is armed or not, I don't care what the NRA says No one who is crazy is ever really happy but that's present day America, a huge heavily armed insane asylum. Maybe Biden can end that.
Paranoia is an intense, irrational, persistent instinct or thought process of fearful feelings and thoughts. Im not fearful. Im prepared. ...and happy
Good for you But your preparations are irrational and ineffective, they won't very likely ever be useful as defenses and stand a good chance of killing you or a loved one. Do yourself a favor and use one of the online sources of mental health help like I have, they're free and sometimes fun
Both me and my loved ones are hundreds of times more likely to die in a car accident. I'm not fearful of that either. Living comes with risks.
Nixon was a bad criminal as President ... Reagan broke US law as he wanted to achieve his goals ... Bush Sr. was the helper of Reagan ... Clinton was a liar and adulterer ... Bush Jr. was a war criminal and jerk who should have put on court with an accusation as done with Nazis once in Nurnberg: "war of aggression" ... Obama inherited a lot of crap from Bush Jr., but didn't change much and failed as president in the end ... And if you think it can't get any worse, the Americans elect Donald Trump as president.
Interesting. What you're calling a globalist government, I see more as laissez faire capitalism. I wonder how many people would agree with you that this corporate elite is a problem? I wonder how many folks shared the same view of things while hotly arguing against each other because of the labels assigned?
Its capitalism right up to the point where they co-opt the authorized use of violent force delegated to govts by The People and subvert that authorized use of force against The People as a means to attain/advance their monopoly. Then it stops being capitalism and becomes authoritarianism.
