Not long ago, there was a country in this world where: Food was cheap Clothing was cheap Everybody was entitled to 1 month vacation Trips to vacation resorts were funded by employers Air travel was extremely cheap Train travel was extremely cheap Healthcare was free Every worker was member of a union Everybody had a job Education was free Income inequality was non existent - a cleaner’s wage was not that far from that of a surgeon Real Estate was disbursed in a fashion similar to healthcare disbursement in the US - by employers or unions to their workers. The country was born 60 years after abolition of slavery, when former slaves rose up and killed their former masters. Revolutionaries and mass media were calling for correcting social injustice caused by generational slavery and rich keeping the profits from the poor. They demanded the rich to hand over their property. At first those who refused were publicly shamed. When that didn’t work, their property was taken from them by force. Dissent was silenced to serve the greater justice. The name of that country was USSR...
Yeah, and that place of "free free free" which really isn't free collapsed. Great policies to chase after. I am convinced that nearly everybody that is a progressive liberal just wants free **** and calls everybody else greedy to get it. Time to pull your big boy panties up and earn you alls keep.
Which has nothing to do with anything, just fear-mongering garbage propaganda from the GOP propaganda machine. No one is for communism or dictatorships in the United States, only in China Cuba and North Korea with a gun to their head.
It's all obviously true. Has nothing to do with modern day politics anywhere near the United States.... Bernie Sanders and ALC and Democrats only want what they have in Canada New Zealand Australia France Scandinavia the UK and every other modern country. Only here they don't thanks to the GOP propaganda machine.
I'm somewhat of an expert on the history. The economy and society could have kept chugging along, though things were not exactly wonderful and living standards were certainly not perfect. It was definitely a substandard standard of living, at least compared to any country in Western Europe or White English-speaking country. The people were malcontent, ultimately they wanted something better or different. Half the leaders fought for reforms, the other half were staunchly against change. The Party ended up splitting, and all the infighting led to the collapse, as the reform faction weakened the system and led the way to the orderly collapse. (Something Lenin had foreseen and warned against) The long Cold War was also a big burden on the economy, but wasn't the single cause of the collapse. If you asked Russians 10 years after the collapse whether they would want to go back under the Soviet system, maybe 25% would have said yes.
Communists in Russia split into Bolsheviks and Mensheviks. The later were the moderate ones. After communists seized power they butchered all Mensheviks in a matter of years. Are you sure you are not modern day Menshevik? Dems don’t seem to be able to get a good handle on their radical factions.
No communist anywhere around here for crying out loud. You are totally misinformed nobody cares about the Bolsheviks in the mensheviks all totally discredited. I kind of liked the Socialist before they took over.... Only the English-speaking world doesn't know the difference between communism and socialism....
Oh, you prefer to use other labels. OK. Who discredited what? If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck - then it’s a duck.
and the only actual spike in violence since Trump is right-wingers beating up and vandalising etc Jews blacks Muslims gays and now Asians. The number of attacks doubles in the area where Trump has his rallies. Wake up
when you find someone who is in favor of a dictatorship that owns all business and industry, give us a call. Everybody discredited communism for crying out loud. Only China Cuba Vietnam and North Korea still have it. And only North Korea hasn't allowed some capitalism....
Do you really believe that? The congress is packed with Progressives who call themselves Democratic Socialists who subscribe to Marxism but nobody wants Communism??? It's as plain as the sun coming up in the morning. Lenin said, "The goal of socialism is communism." what part of that don't you understand? The government we have enjoyed for 234 years is by consensus, is not perfect but as close to it as it gets and exists nowhere else in the world and it is no coincidence that the US is the greatest, most exceptional country in the history of the world. The Democrat party now represents the extreme left who daily espouse their communist bullshit and make no bones about foisting it on the US by force. Wake up.

In 1917 the USSR started as a Democratic two party state. Local councils were democratically elected. But it all went south when Bolsheviks started to believe in their righteousness and started to believe that a sacrifice for the greater social justice was necessary. Do you think all those who supported Bolsheviks in Russia in 1917 wanted a guy like Stalin to run their country? During the revolution they were told that all power will go to democratically elected councils (in Russian - soviets). They wanted American style democracy. The radical left and Democrats’ lswing to extreme side is a very dangerous sign. Their silencing of dissent for the greater good and social justice is no different from what was practiced in USSR exactly 100 years ago! Once you silence dissent you start finding yourself in a situation where, as a leader of a country, you can do anything you want and no one will dare to question you. That’s where Stalin found himself in 1920s. So, he kept on with redistribution of wealth, and anyone who spoke up ended up prematurely dying - a small price to pay for the social justice, wouldn’t you think?
As far as I can remember, most wanted back, but it was too late. Even today there are many people in ex-USSR who claim life was better then compared to now.
Oh, so, mass media playing to the passions of former slaves does not seem familiar to you? In 1917 in Russia, slavery was as fresh in people’s memories as Vietnam War is today. Activists calls for whites to give up their property and even submit to violence doesn’t sound familiar to you?
