Republicans think slavery was a necessary evil???

Republicans: "The Democrats seceded and fought to preserve slavery and built the KKK!!!!!"

Democrats: "its time we take down these symbols of a racist Confederate regime and the flag"

Republicans: "its about history, not hate!!! stop ****ing with my heritage!!!!"

 

I read them, and I think its a mixture or nonsense, bullshit and lack of understanding the evolution of man and society..

The ones I've encountered who think slavery was justified (hint: one is in this thread) ARE overwhelmingly Republicans and conservatives. They, as I've also stated before, are still only a tiny, tiny minority within the GOP and don't represent them. Most slavery apologists are Republicans, but most Republicans are not slavery apologists. Some remember that (as I've also pointed out before) their party was founded specifically to combat slavery.

 

Well Im sorry! If you want to take you serious then address slavery as the only possible way for ancient civilization to build and expand.. Then maybe I might take you seriously, but I doubt it at this point

 

Enslaving people based on their race, raping them, torturing them, etc. for free labor WAS something bad. You don't need to be a democrat to understand that.

What he said is a bit of a head scratcher but I really doubt he is saying slavery was positive in any way. He did of course give the democrats ammo with this statement.
