It’s legal but you must have a license from the state department of ag. We don’t really have processing facilities and infrastructure for harvesting etc, but it will develop. Ditch weed grows everywhere. It is descendant from days gone by when hemp was legal to grow here back in the day. It’s worthless to smoke but has THC levels too high to harvest for hemp. So I guess it really is just a weed. I killed a bunch with the disk this morning.
I know I have heard of illicit crops grown in with the corn, often without the farmers knowledge. Grows about the same rate, same fertilizing requirements. I'd love to grow some when it becomes legal.
It’s beyond my abilities. I told the tech to put it together and we’d see how long it lasts. Been abusing it for 2 months and still holding. We have a fabrication and machine shop about 30 miles away that builds military vehicle parts. They take jobs like building up cast so that’s where it goes if the race breaks again.
Probably wouldn’t be too hard to do in some places. Around here we are around all our fields irrigating twice a day so it would be hard for someone to tend a patch without getting noticed by the farmer. Be easier back east. We use quite a bit of broadleaf herbicide on corn that has long residual activity in the soil. That would likely damage a crop of weed but there would be ways to mitigate that, especially if you were planting clones instead of seed. I thought weed was legal about everywhere now? Maybe you’ll have to move!
I’m actually out changing irrigation sets right now so here are some fresh moments old photos of ditch weed.
Those male plants really dump pollen. Might be a problem if one was trying to cultivate strong sensimilia. Not only would bud production virtually cease (as the plant shifts into seed making mode) but the offspring would be subpar genetics. A photo of an 8 pound lead block I shot with my .22 nitro piston air rifle, just because.
Yeh if you get a strong wind gust when it’s pollinating you get yellow clouds of pollen. Can you tell young plants apart (male/female) before reproduction phase? What are the air rifle pellets made out of? Looks like it penetrated quite a ways.
No real way that I know of besides the node length on males is said to be longer but I dont think that's reliable. Pellets are aluminum, I think. A lead pellet flattens out and wont go half as far. The pellets ------->
Mean lookin’ projectiles. I know a couple people with air rifles but I’ve never shot one. Looks like fun.
This one is on my list, worlds only .30 cal break barrel with a gas spring. I would have already bought it but I want to find a pellet mold. Those pellets can be hen's teeth and a proper mold will last a life time. I suppose I could fabricate a mold. Gun is 230$ https://www.airgundepot.com/hatsan-mod-130s-vortex-qe-air-rifle.html
My filter pond. Use different plants to clear water. Still a work in progress. I think plants are overlooked when raising fish.
