Fox News, the cable news giant that is loathed by the Left, topped the television ratings — all of them — in the first two months of summer. Fox News is accustomed to crushing cable news rivals CNN and MSNBC in the ratings but in June and July of 2020, as more people were sheltered in place and news was at a premium, it beat network news, comedies, dramas, and sports. The “pro-Trump” lineup of Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity beat all other networks during the prime-time hours of 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in June and July, The New York Times unhappily reported. That narrow nightly slot is a “significant slice of TV real estate,” the Times explained, and the cable network beat its rivals as well as the “Big Three” broadcasters that air in more households and offer more programming https://www.gopusa.com/fox-news-crushes-all-of-tv-in-summer-ratings Fox News rocks the world. It is the most trusted name in news! Unlike the liberal lamestream media, FOX News truly is fair and balanced. They rule the ratings because they air all sides of the issues and people like that.
Liberals love to watch Fox News to get a glimpse of the truth instead of the fake news The msm provides.
Lol...right back at you, babe. You should aspire to be a well informed person by seeking a wide range of opinions instead of living in a bubble.
The only thing this proves is that the Fox News Anchors are all uniformly eye candy. Rachel MadCow may be many things but eye candy she most certainly is NOT. Fox was founded by Rupert Murdoch. He invented the "Page 3 Girl" and this is what made his newspaper the Cash Cow that made his entire "Empire" Fer Crissakes don't you ever go to the movies? The major reasons anyone watches FOX are 2x the number of news anchors it has.
Do these ratings take into account households that do not view any form of cable TV? My family has switched entirely to streaming services for entertainment and when I’m looking for news I either do it online or the radio in my car. Seems to me this just speaks to the age of the average Fox viewer being older and less tech savvy. Edit: Just found a survey from the Leichtman Research Group that as of last year nearly three quarters of households subscribed to at least one streaming service. Would likely explain Fox’s ratings, though I didn’t see from the OP article whether these TV ratings took such things into account. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mu...flix-amazon-or-hulu-in-74-percent-of-us-homes
That, even though its an old video is why I don't bother with Fox... Oh yeah, and the fact that Murdoch poisons the UK too with his right wing rag 'the sun'
What would Netflix impact? I have Netflix and prime, have tried hulu, generally avoid cable news like the plague but i watch a LOT of news. Early mornings I do fox biz, then watch GMA every day ( although I do fast forward through a lot of crap) daytime mostly cbs local news, and then usually nbc evening news.
Given the OP article is about Fox News crushing all forms of news and entertainment I was opining on the possibility that it doesn’t take into account large segments of viewers migrating to streaming platforms instead of cable sources; as well as gathering their news from sources other than cable news broadcasts.
At the very least it managed to win over the attention of those still relying on cable for entertainment and news.
Fox News Crushes All Of TV In Summer Ratings Predictable. Fox has few competitors. The left leaning news outlets are numerous share the same audience.
I have Hulu, Disney plus, Netflix and still get Fox News and if I use Roku I get OANN and Newsmax TV as well.
Fox, by your own admission, has numerous competitors, but unfortunately they’re left leaners who are getting their clocks cleaned.
