I don't care if somebody uses the N word or not, but I don't agree with language prohibited to some and allowed for others. That's just as racist.
Just don't buy their music! Kendrick had no problem taking that white girls money but then says she has to bleep out a word? Screw him. Lets see how rich they get off of black dollars alone.
Whites use the N word as a weapon or to ridicule. African-Americans use it as a term of endearment. That's why it's offensive coming from a White person.
Ive heard white people use the same way many times to eachother. So, either its ok for everybody, or wrong for everybody.
black ppl use it to take power of the word, ownership. if you as a white guy want to keep using it then it shows a lack of understanding or respect in general. this is not rocket science and one guesses youre being contrary just for giggles.
So as long as you're in a certain ethnic group, violence, misogyny, and racist monikers are acceptable. "Baby it's Cold Outside" = unacceptable "Bitch Betta Have My Money" = acceptable
Its BS like that that keeps race relevant. It should be the same rules across the board, no race treated differently than any other. This self segregation black people keep insisting on perpetuates racial issues. We are all one race. Skin color is as relevant as hair or eye color.
youre making a big deal out of nothing. just dont use the word in front of black ppl and youre good. the word is only used by a small section of black ppl who listen to gangsta rap. if you as a white guy use it then you are faking being a gangsta or just being antagonistic.
I absolutely dont and never would, and I think those of any race who use it seem idiotic, right up there with people trying to have a conversation while picking their nose and eating it. My point is stop with the special rules that only apply to a segment of the population. We are all human beings, and that is all that matters.
Fine, I get it. I personally never say the word (even when singing along to something in my OWN house when I'm ALONE, but still, if he's gonna have a white person get on stage and sing along can't he pick a part of the song that doesn't have that word instead of expecting an EXCITED fan to worry about censoring themselves?
So being a 'gangsta' is a cultural thing, and if anyone who doesn't have the particular skin tone is a 'fake gangsta'? Why do people classify anything based on skin color? Opera is normally performed by White or Latin singers. Does that mean if a Black person chooses to sing opera, they are 'fake'? I completely disagree with the perimeters you've declared as to who can or cannot say a specific word.
its not a special rule. it is taking ownership and will eventually go out of fashion if white kids stop complaining about it and/or using it.
its quite funny actually, she really exposed herself as not fully understanding the context of the word. so many little white kids use that word and have absolutely no clue of american history or have no respect for history.
its nothing to do with skin colour. its associated with gangs, mexicans call eachother ese, blacks use nword, italians use whatever they use. it doesnt mean a white kid can call his pals ese or call other mexicans ese. that would be antagonistic. this is basic stuff, does it REALLY need explaining?
When something isn't clear from the start of it, maybe people should rethink the idea. Either a word is offensive, or it's not. It shouldn't matter who uses it, or in what context.
or maybe you should think 7 times before you (one) speak. in other words, we should not be spoonfed and should be able to discern and think critically. sound good?
I played folk music on the radio for 24 years. For one show I wanted to play an old-time banjo song by Uncle Dave Macon. Fortunately I listened to the entire song before putting it on the air, and sure enough there it was the dreaded N-word. Quick programing change.
So you think there is no issue for one group to use a slur, but a no go for another group to use the same word. Equality. Some have it, some don't.
There was a time when some people weren't offended by that specific word, but we know differently now. Holding respect for that, most don't use it. Except for some, apparently.
If its ok in ANY instance, its ok in EVERY instance. There is simply no other way to look at it. You can't have words that are arbitrarily offensive or wrong, that is idiotic beyond reason...
