I only had to see the title of this to know who the OP would be. Funny that those who demand the right to control over women & their bodies then claim that others see women as animals. Reducing a person to a uterus on legs is more dehumanizing than anything the OP has shown others here saying.
Men do if they choose abortion. What are you talking about? Under the current system, men are responsible for a pregnancy, if the woman chooses to keep it. Not seeing how that's the case. But perhaps you'll be patient and explain it to me? I'm not holding my breath though...
That logic doesn't work. She'll just find a doctor who will agree with her. And the doctor will face absolutely no repercussions for making the wrong decision. Now if we are talking about a system where a woman sees the first doctor at random (conducted by a neutral organization), and if he disagrees she has to go before a panel of three other doctors to appeal the decision, that might be a different story...
And let's not forget that those who support this idea - forcing women to have those children - are generally also opposed to welfare to assist that woman raising the child.
Are we talking about the responsibility for the pregnancy? Sorry for trying your patience, but maybe you could explain how that specific suggestion would be making the responsibility for the pregnancy (not the abortion) fall on the woman.
If that was true, then there would be no possible way to provide "free" national birth control, would there? Geesh, sometimes I don't think you really think about what you are saying.
You can't be serious. It's common medical procedure. When the procedure will be done on a party who is not giving their consent. (the fetus, in this case) And I can't believe you got a 'like' for that comment either. The person who liked your post, this thought (which should have been so obvious) must not have occurred to them either.
What? Then you miss the entire point of my thread. In case the thought didn't occur to you, my whole opening post sort of rests on the presumption of what you just stated. That would be like me trying to create a rebuttal to an argument over something by pointing out an irony, and then you just bringing up the original argument in response and somehow thinking that's clever.
I'd prefer the woman not get an abortion, but for a woman who believes she'd make terrible mother material, I am willing to find a compromise. (to at least prevent the situation from happening again)
That doesn't mean it can't be determined whether it was necessary after the fact. (hence my compromise proposal) an inquiry will be launched
"it's between a women and her doctor" is code language for saying the woman will decide. Show me one case ever where a woman was not able to get an abortion because the doctor she went to disagreed with her.
