If so...what exactly should they be sued for? I think that much of the damage caused in cities all across America was largely caused by biased reporting because this interview seems to be a far more rational and logical explanation of what really happened in the George Floyd case. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=315020123265797 I like the idea of CNN being bankrupted and turned over to the man who does this interview! Deliberately dishonest reporting should be prosecuted somehow or another.
When news reporters, whether honest or dishonest, go after what the courts call "public figures", then they are legally protected by a very famous court case entitled, "New York Times versus Sullivan" (1964). Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Times_Co._v._Sullivan The upshot is that so long as the person being attacked in the "news" media is what is determined to be a "public figure", then the reporters can lie, distort, manipulate facts, ignore important facts, and, make up almost any kind of fictional sh!t imaginable to slam somebody they hate, for reasons entirely of their own. It's all to insure Freedom of the Press, kind-of-sort-of....
You can't sue them for being one sided it's a free country. What you can do is watch Fox News instead they give you both sides.
Deliberately fanning the flames that lead to the riots by ignoring some very important aspects of the George Floyd case that would tend to produce a less extreme emotional response. George Floyd had a high level of drugs in his system.... fentanyl for example is about fifty times more powerful than morphine.
The “news” has been deemed entertainment by the federal courts. There is no liability for spouting their garbage
Actually, every day I always get my national/international news from these sources -- for BALANCE! On the Right -- Fox News and Newsmax On the Left -- Bloomberg News (which I've nicknamed, "Doom-and-Gloomberg") Also, MSNBC (before nausea sets in) On both sides (you never know which) -- RT (Russia Today). SUPERB analyses of the world's economies from Max Keiser -- a GENIUS! And, a German news source called "Tageshau", (loosely, "Day Show"), available on the internet. Reliable, accurate European news. BBC is too liberal, and 'flighty'.... DW (Deutsche Welle) used to be quite good, but has become a liberal 'sink-hole', like MSNBC, almost.
I'm waiting for Babylon Bee or The Onion to buy CNN. CNN provides a constant source of political satire and news-ish parody not too dissimilar to the Bee's articles. A buyout would be a good match.
If CNN was purchased and the editorial staff actually attempted to cover two sides at least to most topics..... it could become vastly more profitable both here in this world...... as well as in the next level of our existence!
No. People cannot and should not be held legally accountable for the actions of others. Nothing CNN has lied about (of which there is assuredly much) can be reasonably considered 'yelling fire in a crowded theatre' or 'calling for violence.' Thus, they are exercising their right to speech. Though I certainly support boycotting them for their lying speech.
There are very wealthy people who benefit greatly if they can convince people in cities all across America that their homes are just not worth living in........ (just too much risk of being in the middle of a riot not to mention the greater risk of contracting COVID 19 or even worse )..... so they sell their homes and move to rural America..... .or perhaps even to rural or small town Canada....... and real estate in urban America becomes a buyers market........ and the banks snap up extremely valuable urban real estate.... that they have a plan to increase in value within a decade or two. There has to be a law against that if the intent can be proven. This is actually not the first time that something like this was pulled off. https://www.michaeljournal.org/arti...story-of-banking-control-in-the-united-states
Maybe not....tRump would pardon them, commute their sentences..... maybe create executive order making them heroes.
Likewise the White House has been deemed entertainment by many,,,and "There is no liability for spouting their garbage" either.
A rather intriguing case has been presented that he dealt with G. H. W. Bush for his part in the assassination of JFK......... ..... scroll down to post number three here.... if you would like to see a video on that topic.... it is worth listening to....... http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/are-military-tribunals-coming.547119/
