Obviously, those who serve deserve our respect. McCain deserves FAR more than our sympathy. He deserved our respect and our gratitude for his service.

The point is that Trump has heaped derision on those who serve. And, he has done so MANY times. His numerous insulting comments on McCain's service are disgusting, but Trump has been consistent in communicating his low opinion of service of any kind - and certainly military service.

Even Fox news corroberated the article on Trump's refusal to visit the cemetery in France.

 

Nobody who "idolizes" our troops makes the comments Trump does concerning our troops - or about service.

And, Trump has made similarly disgusting, derisive and disrespectful comments on our troops over and over and over again.

 

Why would any voter care about hearing an apology or an appeal for forgiveness from a politician? Americans should not and do not forgive politicians for their failures.
We judge them.
