Biden did it when he narrowed his senile old mind on black females as his eventual Vice President nominees. Are you going to hold Biden’s feet to that same fire? Of course you won’t.

You say the rule change is what precipitated the current situation.
Well, Reid was Majority leader when he changed the rules.
Therefore, as minority leader McConnell couldn't prevent "Obama's Federal Court nominations coming up for a vote." which you said is what precipitated Reid's rule change.
You're confusing coming up for a vote and voting.
You'll have to explain why you keep doing that.
It's the fact and you can't support your claim that McConnell prevented "Obama's Federal Court nominations coming up for a vote." as the cause of the rule change because the Democratics ran the Judiciary Committee when the precipitation fell then and it's falling on you now.

True. But unfortunately for some of us here, they don't have a cadre of media support like him so they can be called out.

You know Democrats abused it first, right? Back before Obama was elected, during the GWB administration, Senate Democrats filibustered Bush's judicial nominees. If you're going to blame filibustering judicial nominees for the present situation, you're (perhaps unknowingly) blaming Democrats.

Moving the goalposts, you complained about Trump playing gender politics and I countered that any female judge is more qualified to be a Justice than Harris is to be VP.

Now your argument shifts to McConnell's "hypocrisy" where there is none. The Senate Republican majority chose not to vote on the term limited Obama's pick since they are of different parties during the election. That's not the case here, Trump and McConnell's on the same team.

:blushes: ~ I find it amusing that some complain about hypocrisy in politics. Politics is full of hypocrisy. It is the most cut-throat backstabbing unethical environment there is - second only to entertainment industry.

He should choose a woman of colour. Then when the Progressives rail against her, we can call them racist and sexist. That's the approach they established, after all. Resistance must always be called racism.

Drumphy needs to choose a transgender disabled lesbian woman of colour who practices the quasi-religion of Wicca.

    Have I left anything out?

No doubt about that very tall glass of water, Humpty Trumpty, the man is all class.

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-09-22/how-us-supreme-court-confirms-donald-trumps-nominee/12686114

Well, if the Family of Ginsberg says that is what was expressed by Ginsberg, there goes another brick in Trumpty's wall.

So you have nothing to offer.
Don't you realize everyone has noticed that you haven't given any defense for your claim.

Back on thread-topic, has anyone seriously considered that Trump may merely be proferring Judge Barrett as a 'feint' to draw Democrats' tirades -- and then surprise everyone by nominating Judge Barbara Lagoa of the 11th Circuit instead?!

Consider: Lagoa is a "she", and, she has the enhancement of being CUBAN-AMERICAN ("Latina", "Hispanic"). Moreover, her parents fled Cuba to get away from the Castro regime! Oh, and, she does already have a commendable record as a very able, intelligent judge, too! Thus, she'd be pretty hard for any Democrat who's constrained by the parameters of 'identity-politics' to criticize.

~ Ah HAA ! Or perhaps Barrett is a decoy and the President will nominate Kamala Harris ! Then the democrats in true-to-form will be forced to accuse her of being a rapist. :cynic:

By Friday there will be 35 days left BEFORE the election. The shortest time anyone has been confirmed is 42 days. RUSHING the process will make it less likely to succeed since it will give GOP senators in tight races reasons to recuse themselves.

The actual nominee is irrelevant to timeline and the election. Railroading it through just REEKS of desperation.

And yet, this forthcoming process is certainly not at all 'unusual'!

Consider: "Three Supreme Court Justices, including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away on Friday due to complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer, were confirmed by the Senate within 45 days of their formal nomination date.

According to Senate records, Justices Ginsburg, John Paul Stevens, and Sandra Day O’Connor were all confirmed in a short period of time. Stevens’s confirmation in 1975 took 19 days, O’Connor’s confirmation in 1981 took 33 days, and Ginsburg’s confirmation in 1993 took 42 days.
    " Link: https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/1...rmed-in-less-than-45-days-including-ginsburg/

    Quite a coincidence....

That was BEFORE the GOP turned nominations for the SCOTUS bench into contentious PARTISAN debacles.

There is an election in progress so this becomes fodder for BOTH sides to use it as a means to motivate their supporters.
