And he paid $750 in taxes for the years 2016 and 2017.... ______________________________ The Times obtained Donald Trump’s tax information extending over more than two decades, revealing struggling properties, vast write-offs, an audit battle and hundreds of millions in debt coming due. Donald J. Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency. In his first year in the White House, he paid another $750. He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years — largely because he reported losing much more money than he made. As the president wages a re-election campaign that polls say he is in danger of losing, his finances are under stress, beset by losses and hundreds of millions of dollars in debt coming due that he has personally guaranteed. Also hanging over him is a decade-long audit battle with the Internal Revenue Service over the legitimacy of a $72.9 million tax refund that he claimed, and received, after declaring huge losses. An adverse ruling could cost him more than $100 million. The tax returns that Mr. Trump has long fought to keep private tell a story fundamentally different from the one he has sold to the American public. His reports to the I.R.S. portray a businessman who takes in hundreds of millions of dollars a year yet racks up chronic losses that he aggressively employs to avoid paying taxes. Now, with his financial challenges mounting, the records show that he depends more and more on making money from businesses that put him in potential and often direct conflict of interest with his job as president. The New York Times has obtained tax-return data extending over more than two decades for Mr. Trump and the hundreds of companies that make up his business organization, including detailed information from his first two years in office. It does not include his personal returns for 2018 or 2019. This article offers an overview of The Times’s findings; additional articles will be published in the coming weeks. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive...action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage __________________________________ Mr. Biden, I hope that you will launch an investigation into this serial fraudster on Day 1 of your presidency. Drain the swamp.
I just posted this story, it's a big one. He paid $70,000 to get his hair done during the apprentice, but nothing in taxes? He's a tax cheat, clearly, this man needs to be incarcerated. I'm reminded of Leona Helmsley's quote "Taxes are only paid by little people". Drain the Swamp? He's The Creature From The Blue Lagoon (well, okay, red...)
In fact, I believe that if Trump is not re-elected, his company will be bankrupt before the end of 2021. His fortunes have already shrunk by 40% since he took office, partly because his unpopularity has driven customers away from his hotels. In the last 4 years, several condo towers have removed his name from their fronts. The pandemic will do the rest. Business is so bad that Deutsch Bank is waiting for Trump to become a private citizen again to recall his loan and liquidate a large part of his fixed assets.
A LOT of that unpopularity at his hotels was made up by countries courting the idiot by reserving in bulk for no shows... https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/02/trump-hotel-empty-rooms-016763
Re Biden, no thank you.... Let the professional prosecutors in NY take care of the post-presidential investigations... Biden and his new Senate will have bigger fish to fry (although I grant you, this is one BIG grouper). Congress shouldn't need to be involved much here, although AG Schiff can certainly help out if needed...
What's the point of the Times story other than to smear Trump with info we can't verify? I remember the Times ran a story about 2 women being sexually harassed by Trump. Those girls later went on TV and said the Times reporters got the story wrong and essentially lied, they said Trump never harassed them. But the Times stood by the story. I wouldn't line my bird cage with that rag.
You do know that tax laws are written by rich people right? All the loopholes you scream about are there for a reason, to protect the rich peoples money. There are some 80,000+ pages of tax code, why? To protect the rich, people in congress. Did you know you could be the owner of a multi-billion dollar company and only pay yourself a measly $50,000 a year salary? With all your write offs I can see them paying $0 dollars in INCOME tax. Income tax because this is what this deliberately shady thread is about.
We can imagine that you are one of those who believe that Trump is a modern version of Mother Teresa. Trump gave $25 million to the 1600 former students of Trump University probably for charity....
I do believe with every new story that comes out the left says exactly that! WE GOT HIM NOW! And every time it fails. That's got to be one hell of a ride! Medication has to be involved.
Bull ****, the rich do have 'net income', and they engage in bullshit write offs to hide their income. What they do do, is get way with not paying taxes. and to your point, the rich should pay taxes, and one way to get them to pay taxes is to tax wealth, instead of income. that way they can't get away with ****.
It will be interesting to see how Biden works this in Tuesday night, and how the Brokeahontas will respond...
Unless he's committing fraud or is just hemorrhaging that much money in losses, taxes this low are pretty remarkable. Sorry.
I'm more curious as to who's invested in Trump then what he paid in taxes (though it's nice to see the fix laid bare for once)
A $15 an hour Walmart employee with dependent children paid more in taxes than $750 in 2016 and 17. It is hardworking American workers who are carrying this fat load of orange ****.
Hey, don't dis me pard! I gave you the link, and that's all. You got a problem with it leave them a message Be warned there are literally hundreds if not thousand of other links confirming the same information..
Dang, the first time I heard that very same thing I was like 12 years old about some other rich person/people.. LMAO
The goal for now isn't to throw him into a cell. That will come later. For now, we have to break his false image as a man who fights for the people. So much the better if this other scandal can convince a few tens of thousands of undecided to vote Biden.
And all these perks are available to all of us. We just need to become rich first. I am comfortable where I am.
