The predictable response by his fan club: -Fake news -Who cares -Good for him -Smart businessman -Anonymous sources A question to his defenders: Where is all the winning? How could someone lose money in 2016-17 on investments, when we supposedly had a booming economy, the best ever in humankind, according to Trump? Let's suppose he even had $1 billion in stock funds, the capital gains tax for realized capital gain is 20%, in his supposed tax bracket. Even if he had only sold 5% of those stocks at a 10% capital gain, that would have been $1 million in taxes. Overall, the seems to be playing a loser's game, on the backs of tax payers. You and me are buffering his losses. Is that someone we want in the WH? Where is all the winning? Is anyone tired of it yet?
I made a complex multi-faced breakdown chart consisting of many different and connected parts for Libs to understand the difference in taxes.
Remember when Obama used the IRS like Matt Dillion in a Gunsmoke showdown episode? And for some reason they could not get Trump. Trump is clean as a whistle fresh out of the package. Ask Rachel Maddow.
Really? See what happens when you or I try to deduct $70,000 for haircuts? Basically, the taxpayer, in other words, YOU, fund his combover (and. most likely, his fake tan too). Are you okay with that?
This is the rub. This guy claims to have lost millions every year for 10 years ? That’s either a very bad businessman, or a cheat. So the right is forced into one of two camps: He is a really bad businessman who has lied about his business acumen for years OR he is lying about the money lost and is a tax cheat. Either way I would say he is screwed, but his base is a cult so they wont care and in the very next sentence start screaming about Joes kids..... He and his kids were caught stealing from their charity, is anyone surprised that he cheats on his taxes
You will be able to take that up with the Manhattan District Attorney, and the Federal prosecutors in Manhattan who are slowly winning their battle to get Trump’s records.
Possibly neither. Maybe he is just such a failure that he is losing money every year, and in debt up to his eyeballs. But if he is avoiding taxes, I wonder how that will play to the working class. If they pay more in taxes on every pay check than he pays in a year.
Headline; Trump attacks Amazon for not paying fair share of taxes Really? Trump became the President for the same reason the FBI ended up hiring Con man Frank Abagnale Jr., however, what special interest loophole, unfair tax avoidance measures, and unethical practices has hypocrite Trump eliminated? Answer; Certainly none that relates to his real estate businesses.
How could have any investor lost money in 2016-2017? Supposedly the best economy and stock market ever? Can ONE Trump fan explain this to us?
I guess he didn’t invest in the stock market. Could be his businesses are losing money hand over fist ...
The real estate market appreciated in both 16 and 17: https://www.globalpropertyguide.com/North-America/United-States/Price-History Again, I ask, how is it possible to lose that much money during that time frane? Unless you are really bad at investments?
You would have a much better argument if we didn't all witness the Sec Treas violating US law in front of our faces...
It doesn't matter what Trump says. He bragged in the middle of the presidential debate that he was smart because he was avoiding taxes. If he wants to expose the "lies" of the NYT, he should do like every other POTUS before him and make his tax return public.
There's a third option... He's a brilliant businessman because his supporters don't understand the difference between making and losing money.
But ... but ... OBAMA! You realize that the illegal acts of one person doesn’t forgive the illegal acts of another, right?
I assumed it was a badge of honour for Americans to pay no tax. Didn't Donald Trump boast that he paid no taxes and said it was because he is 'smart'? And that got him elected? I have assumed that Americans view paying taxes as communism. A different perspective from here in the UK where only terminally nasty people avoid taxes, not smart people, because the population accept taxation not as communism but as a way of paying for healthcare, schools, roads or whatever else an integrated society feels is necessary. Trump paying no tax is surely an election plus point for Americans who fear the slightest hint of socialism?
