Fifty years ago a large percentage of families could own their home and live on the income of one spouse working outside the home. And, they could afford healthcare.

There have been some huge advances. I wouldn't want to go back. But, the above has become difficult to achieve. So, there are aspects that have gotten surprisingly worse. And, some of those hit the very center of home life while also making biases in the workplace both more detrimental and more recognized.

Luring women into the workforce did wonders to suppress wages and benefits. Me, I want to go back.

The findings of declining women's happiness has been replicated many times and iswidely acknowledged. I just chose the best looking graph.b

I blame women's lib for disrupting a stable and happy social convention, well suited to accomodate the different psychic needs of both men and women, that was discovered over the course of centuries.

You might want to research the subject yourself.

Well suited to accommodate the psychic needs of men.
A very cow like existence for women.

Women weren’t happy being just breeders. If they had been, the feminist movement would never have gained traction.

I don't accept that excuse even slightly.

Wages have been stagnant through times of high and low unemployment.

The gigantic disparity of wages inside companies can not be blamed on women in the workplace.

There are other factors. One such factor is the destruction of unions and other supports for wage negotiations and the totally unteathhered magnitude of compensation those at the top give each other.

erhaps, but the data show that the feminist movement made matters worse.

Of course you don't. Just like it is impossible for you to see how immigration is also a factor in wage suppression. You are blinded by ideology.

Results show that when they have the resources, they spend like thieves with stolen credit cards. Spending on what they call "healthcare" is at record levels and Americans are fatter and sicker than ever. Between military aggression and pushing pharm products, Im not sure which one is causing more death.

Its not my opinion that the wealthy pay more in taxes. Its a fact. If someone owes a debt, they incurred such debt and should pay or seek bankruptcy protection. Stop blaming the rich for people buying what they can't afford.

There is no savings to pass on. If you force the wealthy to pay more, they will find a way to spend it and then run out and spend our grandchildren's money. They will find a country to attack, push pharm products, open a department of redundancy department.

You are better off than most of the world. Why shouldn't we insist you may more?

Stop deflecting the cost of debt collection into a morals lecture on how we should starve until we can afford food. A major cost of government is debt collection which the poor and middle classes don't use at all, but the rich usually get away without paying.

Are you being facetious? Your argument runs from silly to patently absurd. You should put in an emoji as satire doesn't come across on the Internet at all well.

My post was a direct reply. Your claim that society is better off with higher taxes is easy to refute. California is an example.

Can you post a link explaining how our taxes are used to collect private debt?

Spending on healthcare is like the first most common reason for personal bankruptcy in this country.

If the antecedent to your pronoun "they" in your first sentence is "humans", then you must also acknowledge that SOME humans, perhaps very damn few humans, actually save their money for the future. True, some don't, and most humans holding political office don't save a thing. They spend like drunken sailors.

True, but the vast majority of this illness is the result of consuming the Standard American Diet (SAD), most of which is subsidized. Americans are fat, sick, broke, and depressed. What we call "healthcare" is really just masking symptoms so that illness can progress.

That's true, but it's far more complicated than we here discuss. "This illness" being the covid, we must keep in mind that it was engineered by humans for gain of function, in the US, and with the help and cooperation of Wuhan.

It would be interesting to know the ratio between fat, sick, broke and depressed people to emaciated people in the same frame of mind.

Fair enough. As more people come to realize the government is not working for us, more will stop voting for bigger government.

I don't see any justification for believing that.

That chart is NOT a referendum on the results of the "feminist movement".

That movement is only one phenomenon. Suggesting it is the determining cause of the graph is a WILD claim made with no substantiation so far in this thread.

Besides, the chart shows men's satisfaction as well. Are you really going to claim that the feminist movement was the deciding factor in men's satisfaction?

Well the government is not working for them... the same applies to most governments in the west... with the exception of Trump and Modi (which is why they cop so much bad fake press)

According to the guy below (I believe he was ex South African intel) our governments work for the committee of 300 with Charles at the head... whichever way it is they certainly do not have our best interests at heart.

First its "open your borders" with the entire western world complying... you see unsustainable amounts of economic activity slowly destroying the planet as a result.... then they flip flop back the other way with Charles' sustainable economic activity. The Australian government pushing for a faster "digital economy" adaption.

These people, who never had to produce a single productive hour in their lives, are now tying peoples legs together... their hands behind their backs... and saying "go on, get back to work..... and don't forget to wear a mask"

Nobody in America is interested in open borders. Nobody.

And, while we do have problems, the constant whining that amounts to the idea that government can't work simply makes we sick.

Anarchists have NEVER had ANY anwers to ANY problem of interest.

I'm SO sick of butt hurt anarchists.

Government don't work..not for us & it's far too big, you don't have to be throwing rocks and looting to know this and denying it just leaves you in the dark. As for the issues with your backside go see a doctor I'm not interested

There is a requirement for a solution for solving problems that include two to millions of people living together.

Saying "government don't work" is just plain silly.
