In 2016, I would have voted for a two-headed DOG before I would have voted for corrupt, laughably stupid person like Hillary Clinton! In 2020, I would vote for a two-headed DOG before I would vote for a corrupt, pathetically senile person like Joe Biden! So, I voted for Donald Trump in 2016, and I'll vote for him again this year.... Lesser-of-two-evils -- BY FAR! Two-headed dog? Link: Sure, in my heart-of-hearts, I would like to have a president who is a synthesis of John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan... but, the United States doesn't have presidents of THEIR stature any longer.... . Gone forever....
I couldn't vote for either Trump or Clinton in 2016 because I felt they were both too toxic. I was right. This time I'll probably vote for Biden because he's a calming influence on a country that needs calm.
A calming influence, C'mon man! This is the guy that will tuck tail and let cities burn and do NOTHING. That is calming? He bent over to let Iran go forward to develop a nuclear bomb while giving them billions in cash, calming? He spreads his cheeks for both Russian and China and that calms you as well. Yikes!
How calm will we all be when he collapses the economic recovery? How calm would we all be after he refused to put in the travel bans and millions would have died? How calm will we be when Harris has to take over? I didn't vote for either of them in 2016 I WILL vote for Trump this time so we don;t all go down the toilet under liberal progressive socialist policies.
This seems to be a pretty common thing. I'm seeing a significant number of people who thought both candidates were bad and voted third party in 2016, who are now Trump voters. In fact this is basically the only change I'm seeing from one election to the other. I'm not seeing any 2016 Trump voter becoming undecided or a Biden voter, and of course all Hillary voters are now voting Biden.
I am writing in Tulsi Gabbard. It is my sincere hope that Trump loses, but my vote only goes to a candidate that reflects my beliefs in government, in governing, and in personal conduct. Tulsi is the closest I've seen this year of people who attempted to run. This guy isn't getting pulled into any more election battles about who the lesser of two evils is. The logical person simply doesn't vote for evil in the first place, which obviously rules out a vote for Trump(or any other candidate like him no matter what party they are from or how much I might even agree with what they say) now until the end of time.
BRAVO Regardless of "my" vote, California will go "winner take all" to Biden. Tulsi Gabbard is the only candidate I can remember who gets actively deployed for military service. Okay, criticize to "safe zones" but life get disrupted. And she was the only Peace candidate calling for some thinking it through before deployments. My biggest disappointment with Trump is not just getting out of Afghanistan as advertised. Syria deployments, Kurds, etc. Endless Military - Industrial spending with no idea of "end point". And the BLOOD, BONE, LIVES, now so cheap. Thank You. I Will Write In, Tulsi Gabbard! Moi INVADE They're Closer!
It's pretty common here with my group of friends. Trump was going to win my state anyway so lots of people who did not support Clinton didn't vote for him. That will change this time and an example of why the so-called national popular vote is meaningless trivia.
In 2016 I voted Libertarian, as I had in 2012. I hated both Clinton and Trump, and disagreed broadly with their policy platforms. This year, I will vote for Biden. While I still disagree broadly with his policy platform, I have become sickened with Trump's constant disparagement of every institution that might hold him to account. If I were not in a swing state, I might consider voting 3rd party again.
I voted for gary back in 2016. I now see that it's impossible to vote 3rd party this election too. I voted for Trump this election (had to early vote because of work).
2016 - 3rd Party Independent. Didn't trust Trump to keep his campaign promises. 2020 - Trump. We finally did get a pro-citizen 3rd Party candidate elected who is trying to expose 30 years of government corruption against the people and make America better. I'll take another dish of that. Wish he wasn't so rude, but I'll take Trump's reform policies over Biden's polished career personality who will keep stabbing us in the back any day.
Everyone has got their own definition of calming. Perhap's it's Joe's obvious displays of ever increasing dementia in that a brainless president controlled by his permanently assigned handlers automatically ends up being a concensus president -- albeit of one party only, but still . . . .
I rather resented having to vote for Trump in 2016 since I wanted Cruz as president. But considering how openly corrupt to the core Hillary had turned out to be, I held my nose and voted for Trump. Frankly I resent the hell out of the DNC passing up the opportunity to select Tulsi Gabbard -- and let's not fool ourselves about that; as the DNC does select the Dem Party candidate that they want fronting for their Party -- because I probably would have voted for her. But as things stand today Biden IS a blatant mental case and Kamala is such a flip-flopping liar that between them nobody knows what either one believes in or intends to do, and so -- damn it! -- it's going to have to be Trump for me again . . . and, frankly, I am sick of seeing and listening to Trump. Meh . . . but he's the best candidate still standing; and so it goes.
Your post immediately brings to my mind the sad but powerful Pink Floyd monster-hit, "Comfortably Numb"! That's what it must be like inside poor, old senile Joe's head at least half the time.... Keeping people "calm" is Priority #1 -- in insane asylums....
I would have been very tempted to take a good long look at a Democrat Party ticket that featured Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard! But instead, what did Democrats give us? The bottom of the 'barrel'....
Indeed. That's why officially I remain a political independent rather than a registered Republican. If the DNC ever get's its political act together again and wrench control of the Party from the radicals sinking their tentacles into everything then I might some day in good conscience be able to vote for a Dem Party politician again. Tulsi and Yang would have been a very tempting ticket indeed.
I'm with you, Gatewood.... I changed from being a Republican to "Unaffiliated" in 2017 because of all the rotten, gutless RINO's stinking up the Party. I'm open to honest candidates for the presidency who are FAIR and who make SENSE, no matter what their sex, religion, race, or anything else -- beyond the fact that they be "natural born" American citizens!
Logically, it is hard to follow what you are on about. I do not want to vote Republican or Democrat. This will be my first time doing so for POTUS. Both parties are corrupt. Pointing out Biden is bought and paid for is like pointing out he has been a senator / VP. However, there is one very big difference this year. Trump is no longer marching the country toward serfdom. He has instead started sprinting us towards it. The office of the presidency has never before been so powerful, and he has bullied his party into backing his move not matter what. Emergency declaration to shift appropriation of funds? Yeah, sure, just don't tweet mean stuff about us. Want to start a criminal investigation against your likely opponent in the next election? I mean he's got a D in front of his name, so obviously he did something. Want to ignore the election results because you claim there is mass fraud which you cannot prove? Cool, we never liked elections anyway. Yeah, no thanks.
Um . . . Both Barack Obama and Joe Biden endorsed a secret investigation into Trump based on what they both already KNEW was a Russian Disinformation dossier commisioned and paid for by Hillary Clinton. As for an imperial presidency . . . you already forgot that Obama was the arrogant Pen and Phone president and that Joe Biden though end-running the Constitution like that was . . . just . . . fine?
Based on what was found, the investigation was more than warranted. Russia did engage in a significant election interference, and had ties to members of the Trump campaign. Yet, as was prudent, the Obama administration did NOT announce an investigation was being undertaken for fear it would have an impact (a negative impact mind you) for Trump. Very much unlike what Trump wanted done with Biden / Hunter. It has not been illustrated that Obama / Biden pushed for this investigation to be started rather than it coming up organically from the intelligence agencies and the oval office simply being made aware of it. On the other hand, Trump declassified the transcript inculpating himself. I forget nothing about Obama using executive orders to get what he wanted. Although the major thing I was angry with him over was the NSA revelations from Snowden and his complete lack of caring at all. And of course leaving us in Iraq/Afghanistan. And continuing the phony drug war. And never repealing the Patriot Act, which of course continues to be passed in both chambers to this day because heaven forbid we could ever stop treating our own citizens like terrorists. The difference is, he did not spout off "fake news" every time something negative about him was said. He did not claim "mass fraud" any time he was running for office. He did not go around constantly disagreeing with his own intelligence agencies any time they came to a conclusion that was not politically expedient to himself personally. He did not disparage judgements he didn't like due to "activist judges". That kind of rhetoric does not come from the mouth of someone who cares about a free press, free elections, national intelligence that serves the national interest, and an impartial judiciary. They are spoken by a man who sees things as serving him, or not serving him. Having a leader like that is incompatible with the stability of a free society.
Sigh . . . I could debunk every bit of what you just wrote but I know better than to bother after your excuse making for the Obama-Biden illegal and politically based investigation into Trump. So vote for senior Dementia and lady Blow-job and enjoy. I will quite reluctantly vote for Trump a second time and then shall gloomily 'celebrate' the start of his second term afterwards.
