And we still voted for Trump at 62 or 63 %
I never mentioned 2016, I'm talking about currently, whatever gave you that idea?

If Trump loses on election day, I doubt we will see you here for a while.

We were at 4 million at the end of voting yesterday (the first week of EV). That's a little under 25% of registered voters, and no, there are no "formal" reports on which party has turned out more voters. Including today, that leaves 13 EV days, plus election day.

Agreed. Once Covid hit in the beginning of the year I said Trump is a lock to win. That was the perfect time to wrangle him in and have his speech writers write some real inspirational words on how we will all get through this together if we just listened to the medical and science experts. But then his batshit crazy real self came out and as they say, the rest is history. LOL

If Trump doesn't get Florida, it may be over on election night. But that's a yuge if. I tend to agree with ya.

Some states' deadline for counting votes is fairly late in November, but I don't recall if any of those are swing states. Florida should have their counts done fairly early, but there may be a 2000-style lawsuit if the vote is too close to call.

Voters have learned their lesson. It's not 2016.

Thanks to my job becoming at least twice as time-consuming as it used to, I'm barely here as it is anymore and I won't be here much until teaching becomes normal again. I have noticed a few other teachers on this board who also don't post anywhere near what they used to. Wonder why ...

That being said - I remember 2012 and I didn't see any RW-ers leaving. I *DO* remember a bunch of LW-ers abandoning ship in 2016. Heck, we have one who runs to the mods if you remind him.

That was his fundamental error. I was vaguely okay with the objectionable fool prior to that .. he hadn't done anything like the damage the Left expected, and even did some good. But COVID revealed just how inept he is. Clearly he's only 'okay' when everything is perfect. Challenging times show the metal of the man, and he's jello.

As to why he chose to go with denial instead of action? Probably because he's an arrogant fool, and no doubt was terrified his voter base would turn on him if he was heavy-handed. Ironically, he'd almost certainly have won a lot of fence sitters and Democrats had he actually taken the pandemic seriously. Leaders who have success in suppressing or eliminating the virus always get a huge approval boost, no matter what side they're on.

How does an election 'go badly'? Wouldn't that be a personal perspective?

Or do you mean if the machines caught on fire, or the tally room was flooded?
