It looks like we are well on our way to a conservative majority SCOTUS. Leftists will now have to show their hand once again if they want to steal the judicial branch of government.

    What happened to the theatrics?

It seems our leftist friends are demoralized. Keep up the great work!

If folks want to return to sanity democrats need to lose all branches of government and as many state and local seats as possible.

Don’t worry. When Biden wins we’ll have 100 justices.

Of course Murkowski will toe the party line

    And so will Susan Collins.

She'll be "concerned" but she'll do what she's told

Confirming this justice is the right thing to do.

Dems made their bed, now they have to lay in it hahaha.

They just had to change the rules to benefit them, without the forethought to recognize how it was totally going to be used against them in the near future. Such a self own.

Court packing would be a loss for the country. I suspect there are a couple of democrats that understand that.

As most Americans want it to be, by a very large margin.

Its was inevitable when that thing in 2016 happened. When the process falls apart, court packing comes along with the ride.

And when Susan Collins didn't, your side saw that is weakness and pounced on her and have been targeting her ever since. She gave the dems a chance and they blew it. She won't do it again. She would be a fool to do it again.

    The Dems need 4 defections.

They were never going to get 4 GOP defections, so (in the end) Murkowski's decision was irrelevant.

Collins is already toast in Maine.

It wasn't inevitable then, and it's not inevitable now. I realize that it's an outside possibility, but I don't even think it's more likely than not. Oh, I know, the libs are all atwitter with the possibility, but it's not them that'll be making the decision. It's the Joe Manchins and Kyrsten Sinemas of the Senate. You can bluster with confidence about how you're certain it's going to happen, but we both know you're not. Frankly, the false bravado comes across like AJ in his election predictions, laughably juvenile.

If Democrats hadn't gone light years beyond all standards of reason, truth, fact, honestly, morality, and basic common decency with its equal parts vile and bogus hit job of Justice Kavanaugh then I'd very likely be sympathetic to their objections over rushing a new Justice through so very close to an election. But the fact is this is political karma, plain and simple. What the progressive left did to Justice Kavanaugh and his family was an absolute atrocity. They knew "Dr" Ford was a liar, they knew her story lacked even a shred of proof, they knew even her closest friends refuted it, and they knew Justice Kavanaugh had a small army of life-long female friends and peers who could testify unequivocally to his outstanding character. Democrats knew all these things and they chose to perpetrate what will go down in history as the most despicable hit-job in American politics.

And so given that I have only this to say about the Democrat's opposition to ACB: blow it out your ass (donkeys).

The statues of Lady Justice that stand outside many courthouse carry a balance scale. That idea of balance derives from the ratio part of rationality.

That ratio, the rationality, has been f**ked to hell, and not just in the Supreme Court. The court is already packed..

The loss is already there, the question is how to restore balance, that's the rational choice, in both senses of the word.

Aye . . . and even if Biden loses the Left will still have crap-weasel Chief Justice Roberts, who rules like a Constitution despising leftist radical about half the time of late.

Barrett is a high quality judge so this will actually help her in Alaska.

I second your opinion to nominate this post.

This is one of the best posts of the entire year.

I understand that there's been an effort by the part of democrats (and your post appears to be part of that effort) to change the meaning of "court packing". Simply put, filling judiciary positions that become available as part of the normal course of events during a president's term is not "court packing". Expanding the number of justices on the Supreme Court, so that a president can shift it's ideological balance for partisan purposes IS "court packing". This is what @Distraff was alluding to when he mentioned "And if democrats win in November she will be joined by a couple more justices."

    Hmm,

Where were you with your balance scale when 15 uber-partisan leftist activists with an axe to grind were persecuting Trump and his family going through their entire life, desperately looking for a crime, any crime, any wrongdoing, not investigating one?

Where were you when with your balance scale when Obama attempted to replace conservative Scalia with uber-liberal Garlick Merrand :D?

You and your balance scale were nowhere to be found. Now you're whining and dusting off that balance scale of yours. Too little too late.

Looks to me Lady Justice gets along just fine with Lady Karma.

And this week's Susan Collins Award goes to her fellow faux moderate in the U.S. Senate, Alaska's Lisa Murkowski.
