Either Collins internal polling shows that supporting Barrett isn't going to hurt her or she just don't care. More likely the former.

Senator Collins announced she'd be voting against (soon-to-be) Justice Barrett. Did that change or did you mix her up with Senator Murkowski?

Ya know what's funny...? The Republican-led Senate probably couldn't have handled this Supreme Court replacement situation as they have IF IT HADN'T BEEN FOR THE CRIMINAL, LYING WAY THAT DEMOCRATS TREATED BRETT KAVANAUGH!

The stinking, rotten theatrics that Schumer and his minions staged in the Senate two short years ago is still fresh in everyone's mind -- including that of Senators like Murkowski.

No, Murkowski will never be considered a 'paragon' of unwavering Republican conservatism, but the Kavanaugh 'barbeque' that the Democrats put everyone through must have made her want to PUKE, as it did every other fair-minded, honest, decent American citizen!

    How? Why?

If it's so bad why didn't the Founding Fathers just make the court 9 and no more?

Keep in mind that Judicial Review itself is a power not in the Constitution. (though it was done and approved by the Founding Fathers)

The Republicans are being flat out partisan LIARS here, and we Dems have not only a right but an OBLIGATION to do them one better if we can. I agree with Bill Maher and many others on this, it's high time we stopped being the "ethical" ones and being bashed for it. Nobody cares or gives us any credit for it anyway, as all the :roflol::roll:and:icon_jawdrop: emojis this will generate should make clear.

Typical Republican thinking. "**** the country, I just gotta be re-elected" This is how a tail made up of party hacks and extremists use the dreaded "primary challenge" to wag the dog that used to be the Grand Old Party of necessary opposition in our system.

The Founding Fathers were fairly clear that Offices of Public Service should be seen as just that. Even today the actual salary of a Congressperson or Senator is far from competitive with what a position of similar responsibility accrues in the private sector. You're supposed to have made your pile before you ever even got here, and this is a sort of giving back; not altruism or charity mind you, but legacy rather than a living

I wonder how many Republican Senators will look back on these years of being fawning lickspittles to an incipient dictator as the major accomplishment of their lives, which is what they're supposed to be

The 'Collins/Murkowski' dance-steps in today's Senate musical were well-rehearsed in advance. All the details were out yesterday. No surprises.

And, when the sun sets tomorrow evening, we'll have NINE JUSTICES ON THE SUPREME COURT once again!

Well. Soon as you show me the Democrat, any Democrat who is not saying to himself "**** the country, I just gotta be re-elected", we'll continue this discussion.

Doesn't matter, Glad NEOCONS are wasting their time on all this BS. Dems are going to pac the courts, and rightfully so. I hate the dems too, especially super LIBS... But, I hate liars and crooks, religious kooks more. That is the right... Denying people their constitutional rights for religion is just Wrong.

I am too the point where I hope they take your guns too. You all deserve it for being so weak to a tyrant

Well, yeah, it sure ma want to puke that Democrats under 'Messiah' Obama rammed-through confirmations to the Supreme Court of Sonia Sotomayor, former big-wig radical in 'La Raza', and, that of Elena Kagan -- who was the Obama regime's Solicitor General working actively FOR Obamacare as it was being illegally thrust down our throats!

"Hypocrite -- thy name is DEMOCRAT!"

If you don't see how packing SCOTUS just because the other side happens to have more of their side on the court is a loss for the US then you see nothing but what you want to see. There are legitimate reasons to raise or lower how many sit on the SCOTUS bench, but being pissed just because the other side has more sitting judges than your side is NOT one of them. That is completely selfish and shows that you care more about power to get your agenda pushed through than doing what is right.

And just stop with the "ethical" BS. Leftists are no more "ethical" than a fox in a hen house. The impeachment farce and what they did to Kavanaugh proved that beyond any shadow of a doubt.

The idea that the democrats play “ethical” is the single most profoundly ludicrous thing I’ve ever read on here. And I read some of Derideo’s posts

Just remember the republican party is the party of hypocrisy; what goes around comes around. The democrats won't forget this and they'll keep this in mind so if the same thing should occur under their leadership they'll brush off complaints by the republican's.

When Biden and Harris refused to answer the court packing question, then it become obvious what the democrats were up to. All they need is a president and a majority in the Senate to make it happen. Republicans have a 6 - 3 majority in the Court after Barrett is nominated and they will be able to strike down Obamacare, Roe v Wage, and Gay Marriage. If the Supreme Court struck down gay marriage, there would be massive popular support for adding to the Supreme Court. Democrats could say that Republicans took a nominee from Obama and rushed a nominee during the last couple weeks of the election. Its going to happen eventually now that stonewalling to take nominations from a president is part of the process.

Incorrect, the dems are the party of hypocrisy. They also didnt have the forethought to recognize by changing the rules it would hurt them in the future.
