President Trump personally is utterly repulsive and disgusting in every possible sense. While he has supported some of the policies I support he has failed on numerous others like controlling the U.S. budget deficit and dealing with the Corona virus. But I still support President Trump for reelection (even if 500,000 Americans die of the Covid-19 virus). Why? I'm not having the media, the entertainment industry and a bunch of government civil servants tell me whom I should or shouldn't vote for. Not going to happen. I think it was General Patton who said "If everybody's agreeing, then no one is thinking". So despite my feelings and views on President Trump I'm still supporting his reelection. As far as I'm concerned, America and the world will just have to wait a few more years for another president.
If you cast a vote for a man you know to be corrupt, dishonest, and "utterly repulsive and disgusting", you relinquish your credibility to criticize other politicians for the same type of behavior. It's why Trump supporters suddenly concerned with corruption when it comes to Biden are gigantic hypocrites. I assume we won't be seeing you criticize Democrats for these things in the future, since you're going to willingly vote for it?
This reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend a decade or so ago about a band. We both agreed we liked their music, but he refused to buy their album or listen to them other than on the radio. His reasoning: "my dad likes them," and he didn't have a good relationship with his dad.
I love ice cream and hate moldy pizza, but I'm gonna choose the moldy pizza...uh...just because? Your reasoning is suspect. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
The OP. Doesn't make sense. Like choosing something you can't stand from a menu, because...because why? Because everybody else is having ice cream? Does that make sense to you? Let's take the analogy a little closer. The OP is telling me he'd hire the completely unqualified candidate because everybody else likes the competitor. Does that make sense to you?
Not sure what difference that makes. You said you support Trump. If voting were mandatory, it appears your vote would go to Trump. The problem as I see it, is you're supporting someone you admit is inferior. Why?
True perhaps but then I consider everyone inferior to me when it comes to the ability to be president so there's that.
