Correct. I used to run a big Law Firm (not a lawyer) that represented the big banks. If you could prove a document was mailed, then it was proved received. We would put in a "Proof of Mailing" document, which we kept a copy of, on all of our correspondence so defendants could not claim they never received it. 99% success rate was good enough for the courts and it worked every time.
