Like what exactly? For four years the left has tried to pin anything they can on Trump and failed. What has changed?
Does he? Surely he can still challenge things in court? Trump has been prosecuted for this sort of thing before and just walked away,
Legal affairs of Donald Trump - Wikipedia I imagine he might just end up like Bill Clinton, fines and other punitive penalties Impeachment of Bill Clinton - Wikipedia
oh I am sure, be huge fines and at most home arrest and probation, a prior President will never see the inside of a prison cell
Possibly but you must remember Clinton's misdeeds were much more clear cut, he did obstruct justice, he did perjure himself, all Trump has is a 'complicated' tax situation.
Doesn't work like that (what sort of society would it be if the AG appointed by the President could just arbitrarily decide to prosecute his political opponents?). Once Trump leaves office he just becomes a private citizen once more, Clinton was successfully prosecuted by the Eastern Arkansas District Court when he was still president.
I voted no. I feel as though his reaction to the election is doing nothing but hurting him. It's true that he's managed to further enflame some of his base - but of the ~71M or so who voted for him, his "base" isn't nearly as many. Many, many among those 71M are much more moderate, and likely aren't impressed at all by his antics recently. I think it's a lost cause. It's too much to come back from. In fact - if the 2020 elections were re-voted upon this upcoming week - and only those who previously voted were allowed to vote again - my guess is Biden cuts into Trump's 71M voter significantly. At least 5M or so, and possibly quite a bit more.
yes, Clinton lied about having a consensual affair, Trump refused to speak under oath, guess Clinton did not know that was an option, but future Presidents will now that Trump set the precedent
The AG does not prosecute but the new one wont stand in the way of SDNY or fight to defend Trump like this one does.
Yes, Trump should run again. He lost his first bid for President, but he learned some lessons that let him win in his second try in 2016. So, Trump should run again and again since he is able. I don't know how many more elections he can try out before his age prevents it. But, it's something to think about.
Actually, again that was Clinton, he realised the mistake he'd made in the Jones case (remember he is an astute lawyer) and gave only written evidence in the Chinagate scandal.
Again, not how it works, the new AG could not be seen to be partisan, Clinton's AG could not prevent him being prosecuted nor could Trump's. However the evidence against Clinton was clear cut, that's not the case with Trump, 4 years of investigations have never produced anything.
