Nothing can feel until brain wave activity. Without an opinion, how can anything know whether they are alive or not? Or if they want to live or die? What determines if one wants to live, die, or are alive or not alive? Some sort of consciousness needs to have been formed.
A lot of people don't really believe that, or only believe that when it comes to certain specific things like abortion.

What? You think people don't believe that people need to think for themselves??? Show your proof? Show proof that you know what "most" people think? And how about that "motherhood" thing ?
Some people clearly don’t think others should think for themselves. And some others don’t seem to want to think for themselves. I don’t know what the numbers are, but I would like to stay away from both.
It's evident when you look at the debates in most other issues in this forum. When it comes to abortion, suddenly a different mentality is at play. Let's face it, "pro-choicers" (overall as a collective group) aren't exactly known for "choice" when it comes to other areas of political issues. Those who truly and consistently believe in individual choice are only a minority.
Neither are pro lifers. As is obvious. trump is executing the most people in history? The RW gov't is killing.
FoxHasting's FULL post:What? You think people don't believe that people need to think for themselves??? Show your proof? Show proof that you know what "most" people think? And how about that "motherhood" thing ? Pro-Choice refers only to abortion....it does not refer to guns or clothing ensembles or type of car one prefers....to say if one is Pro-Choice they believe that applies to everything on earth is just plain silly.. Why are you against people thinking for themselves and not being free to choose??
I like discussing moral dilemmas. A woman should have the right to bodily autonomy right? What if that woman is in a position to have to protect her body from a rapist/murderer? Shouldn't her second amendment rights also be defended?
About the Second Amendment -- for every justifiable gun homicide there are 35 criminal gun homicides and 60 gun suicides. In reality, guns are used for crime much more then for defense. Guns save lives mostly in Action Movies -- not in life.
And gun laws only provide killers with soft targets. You said you don't have an issue with armed security protecting the contents of an armored car, why are those contents worthy of protection while a mother and her children are not?
All civilian in nations with gun laws are protected by Laws. Professionals can handle guns. Military can be trusted with powerful weapons. Many non-professionals who have guns let these guns be used by homicide and suicide perpetrators. If there is a gun in a house it is far more likely to be used in suicide then in self-defense.
Justifiable homicide is rare in real life -- 35 times more rare then firearm homicide and 60 times more rare then firearm suicide.
Justifiable homicide is very common in Action Film -- usually the hero shoots many antagonists. In reality, guns are used much more for murder and suicide.
Yes, she is eating for two. And that 'other' belongs to her. Do you interject yourself in how mothers treat their born children? Do you share your opinions with her if you feel she is not appropriately raising that child? Do you help those single mothers struggling to feed that child?
Yes it is. And I would respect the Pro Life movement if they would dedicate funds and resources to assist the 'born' children as much as they do to the anti abortion cause. If someone is Pro Life, shouldn't they be putting their money where their mouth is and help those children living in poverty? Going to school hungry?
Really? I would never respect them until they started to actually defend life, i.e. the rights of unwillingly pregnant women. No. Those are two separate issues. However, someone is Pro-Life should defend life, but they never do it and should change their name to Anti-Life or at least Anti-Abortion.
Ironic given that a "major breach of ethics" is making FALSE ACCUSATIONS of serious CRIMES against a GROUP when you have ZERO evidence to substantiate your bovine excrement. Perhaps if you REMOVED that LOG it might help!
This applies to most people in all camps. Most people live with contradictions and have a completely disintegrated philosophy. And Pro-Lifers aren't exactly known for their "love of life". In fact, the only "lives" they care about are those who are unborn and those who are already dead. In all other aspects of life, a completely different mentality is at play; restrictions on behaviour, laws that limit happiness and a general despise for the individual. And so are those who truly believe in life. In fact, there is no conflict between choice and life as they are dependent on one and other.
