He taught duty, not judgement. He wasn't for prostitution, but he helped th prostitute. He helped the foreigner when it outraged those with him. He taught the duty of finding what prisoners need and helping them with those needs. His message to the "rich man" was stark. And, the issue with abortion is the method of reducing the number of abortions. Most people would like to see the number go down. But, writing draconian laws against women is neither necessary not acceptable as a method. Biblical passages against same sex behavior don't address the dedicated supportive long term unions of those of the same gender - they address bacchanalia. At the time of the Bible, sexuality was nowhere near as understood as it is today.
Since you would have to travel back in time to when the obscure jewish rabbi who was the real jesus lived, I would ask him how he would feel about his name being used to launch the most murderous religion ever?
He already answered that....but you ignored him... "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
"What could you tell me that would improve the world the most?" I.e. if the best thing is for me to be convinced, then he will have to be convincing, but the main focus is still improving the world.
It was originally perfect to begin with.....perhaps the focus should be for humans to stop destroying it...
He already addressed that idea too..... "But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas."
It was a not a right or wrong question it asked for our opinion therefore my response is not debatable.
I am not debating your response...simply pointing out that Jesus has already addressed your concerns. But please continue asking him the same questions over and over if you think maybe his answers will change.
Why were you such a gutless coward and totally afraid of appearing before Pontius Pilate, the Pharisees or the Sadducees after you were supposedly resurrected?
How is it you imagine that an all powerful supreme being (God) would want or need you to do anything?
You might want to read Romans Chapter 1. And, King David did not have an affair with Jonathan. Does a Father love his Son and that makes him gay? Your logic is really pathetic. Your knowledge is pathetic as well.
Have you by any chance turned on the news today??? What did your fellow righteous righties do at the capital today?? You should be ashamed of yourselves...and tRump should go to prison for the rest of his life
Why is there suffering? Why does there seem to be no obvious and compelling proof of the existence of God?
Have you met the real '(I)esus'? Matthew 1:1 "Thys ys the booke of the generacyon of Iesus Chryst, the sonne of Dauid, the sonne of Abraham." http://textusreceptusbibles.com/Great
Great post. Only problem is that, for many, Jesus's image appears in a mirror, & their religion is more of a security blanket, buttressing their feeling of righteousness. "Mirror, mirror, sacred & blessed, who's the follower that you like best? To wit: "Judge not, lest ye be judged-- except for you, Spooky, 'cause we're tight."
Translation: your opinion, gabmux, is not permitted-- by Spooky's understanding of this thread, in a debate forum-- to contradict hers. And Jesus loves her more than you, since you're a liberal (so watch out!).
