That's all we needed to read. Trump did not tell the rioters to riot. The rest of your post is moot.

Jury members are farm animals; how they choose depends mostly on the theater of the attorneys, not on the facts.

That all someone would want to read if they wish to rationalize Trump's behavior yesterday. I made my case, and you are free to ignore it. Meanwhile:
CNBC: Federal prosecutor doesn't rule out charging Trump for inciting Capitol riot.

I think this one more reason to believe Trump will pardon himself.

What he said is the equivalency of telling a rape victim that this is what happens when you wear scantily clad clothing around an unctrollably horny man.

Trump doesn't command directly, Cohen pointed this out, he talks in doublespeak, where everyone around him knows what he means, like mafia bosses do.

But, he's said incendiary things, so his flock knows what he wants when he gets them all riled up.

The important fact is that he incited his flock to commit insurrection. That's sedition.

He will be convicted of conspiracy to commit sedition, or whatever the actual law is.

    I'm pretty sure of it.

There is no actual requirement for direct language, such as 'I direct you do commit insurrection' in order to incite a mob whereupon they become violent -- it just requires someone getting them all riled up, whipping them up into a frenzy, which is what Trump did, "you'll never take back our country with weakness" etc., and with the help of Giuliani declaring "trial by combat' and they, knowing his incendiary language, either past or present, 'understand' what he wants them to do.

I voted for Trump in 2020 (not in 2016) because Democrats make me sick.

That said, I think he should resign, tonight, as a conciliatory gesture, and let Pence take over for the remainder of his term.

Trump was an important cog in the process that led to mistrust and hatred of congress -- AND OF PENCE AND OF ROMNEY -- sufficient to cause some reckless nuts to storm the capitol. One of the nuts was asking, "Where is Pence?" as he wandered the halls. What do you think he had in mind? A conversation? That woman Air Force veteran would be alive if he hadn't gotten the mob all stirred up. It's not homicide, but he shares in the responsibility. Whether he saw it coming or should have seen it coming (I say it's the latter), it doesn't matter. He's the President. It happened on his watch shortly after his speech telling constituents they had been robbed. There could have been a few Timothy McVeighs in that crowd. There probably were.

There was this Japanese airliner that crashed several decades ago. The president of the airline drove to the home of ever family who lost someone one the flight and apologized. Obviously he didn't personally cause the disaster. But he knew the buck stopped with him. Then he resigned or at least offered to.

    Trump should do the same.

You know that unarmed white guys have been killed by cops, right? It's a problem, but it's not always a matter of race.

It's amazing that after 6 months, obvious lies are still being spread. The scary thing is that RW extremist don't care what Harris actually said. They care more about what Trump, OANN or Newsmax told them Harris said.

    Obviously.

It was Blatant Incitement, and Trump needs to face Federal Charges for Inciting a Riot.

The insurgents left pipe bombs in parts of the Capitol. All were thankfully diffused safely.

But you know he won't...not unless he is pressured to, but as long as there are fanboys ready to deliver, Trump will keep playing the Pied Piper tune for them.

We had a thread several days before this that the hotel where the proud boys liked to stay was closing for this time period. It isn't like they weren't already preparing for this kind of thing to happen. The Capitol Police dropped the ball. No more, no less.

Yes, but the BLM riots are the culmination of 400 years of white oppression of blacks whereupon the underlying volcanism has no place to go except to explode

Not condoning it, wrong is wrong, notwithstanding in law they are the same crimes, but in terms of history, you are make a false equivalency.

Actually, that is incorrect, factually wrong. Simply getting people riled up, whipping them into a frenzy, does not constitute incitement under the "Brandenburg test," established under Brandenburg v. Ohio. Those who liked your post are apparently in agreement and thus just as ignorant as you are. Anyone who considers themselves a conservative that liked your post just proved they are not, as your definition of incitement goes against the First Amendment--even ACLU's standard of it, in fact.
