The term came about before the turn of the C20th and was in wide useage by the end of the Boer war in 1902. Overwhelmingly the people who died in those camps were Latino & African. By all means argue that the description doesn't fit, but at least try to get the history correct.

True but the law is you have to be here 5 years and 18 years old to qualify to apply for citizenship. My parents had to wait 5 years before they could apply. I had to wait until I turned 18. So if we are going to give them green cards lie candy then the date of issue of their Green card should be the first day of the 5 year wait until citizenship process can START. They need to go through ALL of the steps that my parents went through and I went through. The illegals as I said are in my opinion criminals so by granting them a path to citizenship we are for all practical purposes granting them PARDONS.

No, I believe in fairness. I grew up here without even any clear memory of the refugee camp. I "think " I recall waiting in line to board the ship that took us to the America because I "think" I remember my parents making a big deal of telling me that was the ship that is taking us.

Basically I grew up in the US thinking of myself as an American kid. It was not until my one and only one year of college in the ROTC program that I was told to get my citizenship or I could get a commission. So even though I dropped out and went into the USAF ( as enlisted) I needed the citizenship to get a Secret security clearance.

DACA "kids" should be treated just as I was. They can get green cards BUT they still need to go through the naturalization process just like I did.
And they need to pay their own fees for the citizenship process.

Remember what Milton Friedman said "there ain't no free lunch". Now literally there is but in the 1950's when I was a kid my parents would rather starve then take "free" lunch. They had "free" lunch in the forced labor camps as prisoner of Nazis and "free ". lunch in the refugee camps. My dad worked worked as refugee camp security and my mom worked in the camp cafeteria for their "free" refugee camp lunch. And they were proud that they worked in camp. Others did not they sat around waiting for their free lunch just like a lot of illegals do I guess.

My question to you ' do you believe that those illegals should be granted easy access to becoming a citizen and jump at warp speed ahead of people like me?

It doesn’t when the term came out. When you mention concentration camps the Holocaust and Nazis is the first thing that comes to mind. And even though many different people were executed by the Nazis, Jews were the most affected.
