Yes administrations of both parties either ignored the problem of illegals or like The Trumpocity upgraded parts of the barrier ( wall) which amounted to nothing but a big PR show. Enough Illegals come in and overstay their visas. Just go to Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn and all you hear is Russian spoken in the cafes and delis. Disgusting.

When you say 'we, the United States' you reference a phenomena created by immigration, spiced with murder and theft.
The laws subsequently created, are enforced by power, not by being in any way right or good. They're simply laws to protect the greedy descendents of people who took over the land from the original inhabitants.

Truman a Democrat is the one who pushed for the 1948 Displaced Petsons act which legally welcomed refugees from post war Europe particularly Central and Easter Europe and many. Jewish people who Hitler did not manage to kill. Eastern European people such as my parents whose home countries were invaded and occupied by Soviet Russian Communists or ended up being controlled by Communists did not vote Democratic because the Republicans were much better at claiming to be anti Communist. My dad thought Joe McCarthy was some sort of Saint because he did speak up and warned Americans about Communists within. BTW Republicans were not big fans of welcoming post WWII refugees just as they were not too happy with the GI Bill.

So there is no guarantee that any group will vote for Republicans or Democrats just as there was no guarantee that those SUPREMES appointed by Donnie would help him commit a coup.

 

Indeed, LEGALLY is the keyword here. No republican wants to impede legal immigration. Reduce it, streamline it, improve it to benefit the country but once the immigrant comes here legally, the republican welcomes him.

How do you insure they will return to court to face judgment for their alleged crime?

You may have seen my posts and 2 thread about my ex who works for the democrat party in CA, or maybe you didn't, but let me tell you some of the things she told me.

After Bush beat Gore the democrats said they needed to secure large blocks of voters, You might recall how Bill Clinton and the tippy top democrats called illegals a scourge on the country. But if those illegals can become voters then the democrats want them on their side, so the illegals went from a scourge to our economy won't survive without them. Republicans didn't change their position, the left did in an effort to get voters. It was the same way with Muslims. Prior to 2001 no one cared about Muslims very much, but after 911 a lot of Americans were cautious or fearful of Muslims and the democrats saw their block of votes as something they wanted, so they courted them and painted conservatives as Islamophobes. The same thing can be said about gays, the refugees and recently Asians. And with each group of people they're going after they pitch the claim that democrats are their welcoming friends and republicans hate them. If you stop and think about it, just about every group of people democrats pander to is told they're victims and only democrats are there to stand with them. (the term 'victim' is strategically being replaced with 'people who are disadvantaged,' 'marginalized' or 'under represented' because the thought of being a victim is demeaning to some folks who don't view themselves as such. When you hear people on the news use those newer and preferred terms you know they got them from the DNC)

But here is something she told me that was in front of us all along but no one put the pieces together - Women. Every single person on the planet has a mother. Many men are married to women and have sisters and other family members who are women. Yet the left has been able to get many of them to believe the right hates them or that they're being oppressed and only the democrats can save them. This will happen with the illegals. If you were an illegal or newly created citizen, who would you vote for? You would vote for the friendly face and for illegals that would be the democrats.

 

Poverty be damned, swelling the ranks of Democratic voters is paramount.

And WRT unlawful entry into the United States, that is prima facia: You are not an innocent person if you sneak across an international border or knowingly overstay a visa.

 

Trump didn't and now Biden wants to undo that and we already have reports of crowds of thousands on their way here to crash the border and get entry.
