If this thread cannot be totally non-partisan, than no thread can!! The Bidens' dogs arrive at White House - CBS News The first dogs have arrived! Champ: Major: Both German Shepherds are fine rescue-dogs. What sweeeeet pooches! Being the proud owner of 2 sweet Dackels (Dachshund-Mix), I heartily welcome the arrival of these 8 paws at the White House!! BTW, this was Gerald R. Ford's Dog, Liberty: A truly beautiful labrador retriever. Also, a wonderful and kind 'accidental' President who actually was one of our finer. I remember watching that dog grow up during Ford's 2.5 years in office. What a fine doggy. Feel free to show your love of dogs and also some humanity and provide more 1st and 2nd dogs and cats, if you like. THIS THREAD IS NON-PARTISAN.
I'm sure we'll see some pics soon of Biden taking 10 minutes out of his busy busy schedule to relax walking or playing with them, even in the cold...(takes less time and is much cheaper than a POTUS playing golf) It's a very American thing to do... More positive changes every day...
Yes, of course, because Twitter is a news source... or you can get a real news source... only took me 3 mins SNIP Despite a bevy of bullish news for the corn market last Friday, futures prices still closed down the limit on increased projections for South American crops. Corn exports should begin to pick up seasonal strength over the next couple weeks, a factor which capped the morning’s losses ahead of this morning’s weekly Grains Export Inspections report from USDA. ENDSNIP https://www.farmprogress.com/morning-market-review/morning-market-review-jan-25-2021 Not sure what corn has to do with dogs, unless you are at a county fair...
I'm looking for an Irish Terrier ... they do not like desert pack rats and those little varmints have chewed wires under the hood of my truck ... expensive dog but they come well recommended for the job ...
Here's Pres. Ronald Reagan (1981-1989) and First Lady Nancy Reagan with one of their dogs, a Bouvier des Flandres (Belgium) called "Lucky": Lucky was a wild one (hunting dogs are like that, just like both my dackels) and never really adjusted to life at the White House because hunting dogs love to run miles and miles. But Lucky was also totally photogenic and had the ability to appear out of nowhere when the cameras were trained on the President or the First Lady. Sweeeeet doggy!!!
Doing that is highly recommended because studies are showing conclusively that 30-45 minutes of aggressive power-walking per day is not just good for the cardiovascular-system, but also actually the best training for the human brain. Also, being outdoors and physically distanced from others during the C19 pandemic is helpful. So, yeah, Joe will have some fun goofing off outside with both dogs. Great poochies!
My one dog, named Xara, is half dackel and half terrier and good lord does she love to burrow..... Some of those pesky little animals that love to chew wires under the hood are called "Marder" in German: One of those little critters has taken up home inside a car outside an elderly couple's house in my neighborhood. I know the couple and go shopping for them during Covid-19. And Xara makes a beeline for their car. She wants to eat that marder.
I prefer cats but some of that might be that I frequently have to go into peoples back yards with no permission. Never been attacked by a cat. Dogs suck.
I also prefer cats, I've two, but I also like dogs. But like my taste in cats, I prefer mixed breeds for my dogs. My brother has a mixed newfoundland-Labrador and it's the most amiable dog I've ever known. Quite gentle with children and seniors and yet extremely playfull. And being part newfoundland, he love swimming!
My wife has worked with animals her whole life. From Vet Tech, to Certified Rehab Therapist, Nutritionalist, trainer etc, Dogs and Cats have been a very large part of our lives. We volunteer at 2 shelters, and donate regularly. I cannot explain how satisfying it is to work with them. They have a claiming effect, and they make your more loving person.
I thought it was a golden retriever at first. Grew up with a yellow/white lab in CT, when there were no leash laws. Would walk and wait for me at bus stop for school and of course join me on my paper route. Good to see the pets back at the white house.
Darnit, I made a mistake. Liberty was a golden Retriever, not a Labrador. Ooops. Thanks for gently pointing it out.
Lol giving a Siamese cat an asian name would not fly today It would be like having a chihuahua named Pablo or something
It's sad. It's like you put up a huge sign that says "please do not piss here" and the very first thing they do is to piss right here.
I knew there was a reason why I like you. My two dackel and I, we take three long powerwalks per day and then we play with sticks and doggie toys and then there is cool training for treats like "sit" and "roll over" and then they cuddle up with Papa and my daughter on the couch and snooze their hearts out. Love without end. YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
