    Sometimes its nice to give people an idea of just what ideals make up that person's pro/patriotic American life. Not to go into detail of what makes up my love of country, I'll just present the five C's that have helped me reach that pinnacle in life.

    * Conservative
    * Compassionate
    * Capitalist
    * Christian
    * Constitutionalist

    I like Mark Twain's philosophy on patriotism: Patriotism means supporting your country all the time, but its government only when it deserves it. :angel:

    Nope. The Constitution establishes religious freedom. Christianity is one faith. Promoting one faith over another, or promoting faith to the unbelievers, is what the 1st Amendment was meant to prevent. I'll fix it for ya.

    * Creligious freedom
    * Constitutionalist

    So you're a compassionate Lib-hater
    and a Christian who bows down to the Capitalist Money-Changers.

    Whatever, dude. Sell it someplace else - nobody is buying it here.

    So, you are a compassionate liberal hater, that makes you a hypocrite.

    FYI, hate is antithetical to compassion.

    I'm giving libhater the benefit of the doubt on that point, because stating one is Christian and a Constitutionalist does not necessary equal being against religious freedom, which is in the first amendment.

    However, his avatar is 'libhater' and since hate is antithetical to compassion, that makes him a hypocrite.

    Agreed, but I was addressing his characterization as being "pro/patriotic American."

    Christianity and the Constitution don't necessarily contradict each other, but promoting one faith as indicative of patriotism is not pro-American. It's at worst anti-American, but most likely nothing more than a moot point. Anyone can insert their chosen faith and claim patriotism. It's meaningless outside the constitutional right to make that choice, or no choice at all.

    So I am an atheist libertarian. I believe in freedom and minimal government interference in our lives. Do I not make the patriot cut?

    The OP said these are the 5 C's HE goes by and nowhere implied that is what YOU or WE should abide by. He's just sharing HIS beliefs.

    Who is it that promotes one faith over another? I happen to be a Christian, period. Yes, the Constitution establishes religious freedom. I was and am free to choose Christianity as my religion.

    The words God, Jesus, or Bible do not appear in the Constitution. Not even once...
