I tend to agree. A person should be able to express his/her views and not automatically have it assumed they are dangerous.

Of all the ways of hurting others shooting is unique in that a child can do it as effectively as an adult and from a relatively great distance so they are not subject to injury themselves. You are not going to have crazed knifers going into a store and killing 10 people. They might injure some and kill a few but eventually, someone will stop them

And everything you say as a solution is bullshit too. You want to turn back the clock and restore the "old ways" which most people found stultifying and miserable. You want to completely and totally change society in ways that really can't be done anymore and nobody really wants to anyway. I think we should just take away the guns and we'll be fine. You can't shoot people with guns that aren't there.

The only functional difference between a semi-auto anyone can buy and an actual combat weapon is the availability of full-auto firepower and the most that does in regard to actually killing people is use a lot more ammunition. Soldiers carry lots of clips and change them all the time. Madmen are lucky if they have two and many take a minute or more to change them.
