Beat Gonzaga. The stark contrast was obvious. In addition to playing in the WCC that's made up of Christian schools, they have absolutely no athleticism and Baylor exposed them. And of course, well, if you saw the two teams, it's not hard to figure out why Gonzaga got blown out.
The Zags go mauled. They were also cold as hell while Baylor was on fire. They couldn't hit threes or free-throws and Kispert is usually lights out if you give him any kind of room, which they did.
Gonzaga always gets propped up by the pathetic conference they play in. It's easy to go undefeated when you're playing a step up from league play at the Y. They had a better team this year than most but no way they should have made it to the championship game. The contrast between Baylor and the Zags was stark.
Here are some teams they beat this year: Iowa, Kansas, West Virginia, Virginia, Auburn, BYU. Of course their wins in the tourney as well. They were also supposed to play Baylor but Covid cancelled that one. The contrast between Houston and Baylor was also stark so I'm not sure who you would have put in there instead.
Bottom line: Baylor had a Better Team and Baylor played in a tougher conference. Gonzaga was Horrifically Overrated, and last night's loss was the most pathetically embarrassing performance by an Undefeated Team in Final Four history. Period. End of Story. Gonzaga Basketball was exposed as a joke. Textbook example of a Paper Tiger.
Yeah, not impressed. They play those teams (except BY-Who?) very early in the year. Like I said, they were better than usual but still not one of the best in the country.
