Speaking of big lies, mental health has been funded to the point of record profits for pharm companies. Is medicating people with drugs that list "suicidal thoughts or actions" as side effects, helping? Expanding the argument to all health issues, mental or otherwise, are Americans healthier due to record consumption of pharm products?

There has been a symbiotic link between psychiatric med's and mass shootings that no one is wanting to talk about. Yes, these med's do help people but also there is a link to some of the side effects, specifically violent behavior and it can deadened their natural remorse and guilt functions of the brain. One of the primary reasons I think we are seeing such a massive uptick in these types of heinous crimes.

People tend to latch onto gun's as the culprit as it does seem to be the tool the mentally damaged person levitates too, but alas, not looking at the REAL problem. Both republicans and democrats alike get love from big Pharma and tend to overlook at the real issues of our society and what could be the major factor to people just losing all sense of compassion.

I honestly think we need to bring back mental institutions and anyone battling specific disorders should be staying in these institutions and monitored to how the effects of the drugs are doing. A trained physician to watch and manage the patient to understand and ensure the dosage is right, and truly working for the patient. There is not a one drug solution and many people require a specific cocktail with varying dosages to manage their psychotherapy.

Again, we continue to watch these events increase in frequency and it quickly devolves into a debate over guns. Let's really start looking at what is causing people to have no moral firewall that they have this feeling where they have to go murder innocent people. Remember, the two worst massacres in our history did not have a single shot fired.

I'm getting in on this thread a little late. Is this another story where the left is outraged because white people were shot all while ignoring the far greater number of others who were also shot in places like Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, St Louis and New Orleans?

It is a result of the breakdown of the family and community as well as a lack of purpose. People have nothing to live for, at least they are told they don't. God, no, country, no, family, no. People are nihilists and act out accordingly.

As far as getting rid of guns. You would have to be an absolute idiot in this day and age to give up your right to be armed. The second amendment is the last defense against tyranny.
