And they're as wrong about that as the righties are when they talk about racism not being an issue anymore. Maybe on a local level, or within private businesses or groups, you may still find institutionalized racism, but it's been pretty much wiped clean out of state and federal systems.

It would probably be more helpful for everyone if we didn't have one side pretending it's still 1866 and the other group pretending that segregation and the civil rights movement happened 500 years ago(instead of barely over 50) and is no longer something we even have to think about.

Obviously this is a racist cop. He has the right under the first amendment to say whatever he pleases without government interference. I can understand why he was fired. I can understand why he is being prosecuted for whatever firearm law he broke. I don't understand why his racist words had anything to do with anything other than bringing shame to himself and his department. I would think he could and should be fired for that reason alone.

But the first amendment is there to protect unpleasant speech. Polite speech doesn't require protection. His racism is personal and a problem for his employment. His speech is protected. That is reality.

    We should you? Huh?

Who cares what administration it was from? Reverse genetic fallacy. The paper had little in the way of any facts or statistics.

What's the numbers? How much of the police force is made up of actual racists? Saying that they are infiltering the police force does not show the extent that this is happening. In other words is it such a problem that we need federal interference? Or is it so small that it should only be handled on a case by cases basis? I am looking for proportional responses to problems. Not over reactions or under reactions. BLM for example is an over reaction. Not doing anything is an under reaction. If 1 out of 100,000 cops is racist, then it should probably be on a case by case basis. If 1 out of 100 cops is a racist then federal intervention may be required.

Where did I say anyone said it? I would ask for some basic reading comprehension but I will not ask for the impossible.

Funny how one cop saying something like this means all cops are bad but over half of all violent crime being committed by blacks means nothing about blacks.

So you saying "I am so glad racism doesn’t exist in America!" wasn't a dig towards a certain group of people? Is that what you're trying to say? And if it wasn't do you actually believe that anyone would believe that?

My bad. I thought your statement "I am so glad racism doesn’t exist in America!" was tongue in cheek and hadn't realized you actually believe racism in America doesn't exist as it's rampant right now among democrats. Carry on.

    More needs to be done.
We need a full and open inquiry about that blue wall of silence around that racist thug with a badge.
Cops must be held accountable for not speaking out for what they probably all knew what was going on.

Let's not all get mushy. Them civil servants are paid with taxes and serve the community.
They need to earn their trust again.

if every cop that was caught always was punished, vs getting a hand slap and a paid vacation, would not be talking about it as much either

The official deadline for the count is like 30 November so there is no rush to count.

Go prove this is what democrats do. Do note, it's not the first time I heard this accusation.
But I have yet to see anybody actually proving this.

Meanwhile the fanatic far right white racists do all the talking again and again for themselves. You might wonder what it will take for me to accept that racism is indeed systematic in the US. So far it's just GOP denialism with no bar set at all to when they are willing to accept systematic racism is real and a problem. It's an utterly dishonest position, deceitful and evil. Them racist extremist love this position that at no point ever it will be called that they are a systemic problem. The Dems and black community know this. And this is actually tearing the country.

"“It’s a sign of beautiful things to come. Also, I’m going to charge them (African Americans) with whatever felonies I can to take away their ability to vote,” the text said.""

proving why taking away the rights of American to vote is wrong, some abuse this
